As weird as this may sound, not being able to get the card and being on this forum and trying to find new ways to investigate the ETA on the card is actually kind of fun in a strange and unexpectedly sort of way. Plus, it builds up excitement for when the actual card finally reaches your doorstep. I probably need a hobby or something...

Want to read something weird? Including me, you're the 3rd person who has stated they're position number 8 on the unofficial queue. The other number 8 said they ordered at 2:41, I ordered at 2:42:20, and I'm guessing you ordered somewhere around this time too. I wouldn't trust the number on the queue in my opinion. But I'd say that you're definitely top 50 at least.

Edit: I'm referring to Palit OC btw which was the 17th option. Should have made that clearer.

ordered at 14:41 so all around the same time

I sold my 2070 Super 2 weeks ago and am sitting here with a useless PC at the moment. I ordered a Ventus on Thursday and hoping the wait isn't too long :-(

2 months I bet!

I bought a 2070 super again, tempted to keep it as a backup card for when I sell the 3080 before hopper launch, or big Navi whatever I get.

Thing is, 650 and 450, bladdy lot on GPUs, a 3080 and 2070 super for less than a 3090 tho

They have stock?

I am tempted to just buy a 2080 super and use that until the 4000 series cards

1080P = bottlenecked with 6700k
1440P = small bottleneck
4k = tiny bottleneck

That said, 3080's are not 1080P cards, heck, they're overkill for 1440P unless you have a 240hz monitor. These are aimed at 4k.

Always have DSR to run the higher resolution for people with 1080p screens and it does make the picture quality way nicer.

Every order I have placed with OCUK on my lloyds debit card, lloyds blocked payment for fraud, but not any other retailer has this problem, its odd. It also doesnt get blocked if I pay via amazon payments on the card.

I've had this issue once in the past but once I said it was me I never had it again even on large purchases, I've had it happen before with other well known large retailers as well though.

Just got off the phone to OcUK, really helpful lad. He said the queue figures should be emailed out to everyone tonight apparently. But just waiting to process a bunch more cancellations, presumably so everyone gets fairly accurate queue numbers.

Also said the 3080 total orders are a few thousand less than said here, so maybe 6-7k at most not 10-12k. Said the Asus, Gigabyte Eagle and MSI cards are most popular - queues overall are approx 1700 Asus, 1300 GB Eagle and 1700 MSI right now... :o

Palit/Zotac seem best atm getting stock to them. Today had approx 38 Zotac cards, 41 Palit (38 normals, only 3 oc models) and getting fairly daily deliveries.

Think he also mentioned getting 300+ MSI cards soon as well? Not sure if I misheard that, but pretty sure what's what he said.
Going by those numbers at OCUK alone nvidia just wouldn’t have been able to cope. Many magnitudes above any other launch. Ridiculous how some are saying how it was a ‘paper launch’ when several thousand cards have been ordered.

I'll have a look this evening to investigate the best way of retrieving the data :)
That'd be lovely. I had a play on my lunchbreak and can conlude:
  1. I remember why I hate sheets.
  2. Why is there no option to track a running total with a pivot table? I could swear back when I had to build excel's version for a previous job there was a way of doing what I wanted with them.
  3. Doing it manually was a pain
  4. Not sure the graphs I was picturing give as much interesting data as I though, though I find it interesting to see the order rate for certain cards slow down when the ETAs were removed, and reviews had been read.
If anyone else is interested here are a per card graph in the first 24 hours and the same but for all the data I had when I copied the spreadsheet
[EDIT]So I didn't actually look at the images sheets exported before posting them... just use the interactive one below, these are not a reasonable resolution. Gah, sheets, why do you want me to hate you?
Or I could just use the snipping tool for high-res images.[/EDIT]

And here they are published through google sheets making them vaguely interactive.

Just got myself a used 780 Ti for £75 from an unnamed retailer that sells used mobile phones and electronics to act as my placeholder until I get my 3080 and to have as an emergency card.
