On the flipside, prices are raising further and further away from MSRP, so at least you're locked into a price

And yet NVidia price remains the same on their site for the FE. Which is a bit surprising as they put the 2080ti FE up in price when it was scarce.

Even the bottom of the queue for a Palit is still probably about 2000 less than the TUF or MSI.

I got an Eagle at 15:09, so I feel like I am in the spot between feeling like I am close enough in line to stick it out, but possibly miles behind depending on stock progression, so I don't want to be too hasty before learning my official place. unofficial calculator has me 125th in line for an Eagle, so if that is remotely close to reality, that doesn't sound too bad once deliveries pick up

Although frustrated by assuming there was stock available when placing an order it's only a GPU. I'm waiting for the Ryzen 4000-series before building anyway and as long as I have all the parts before Cyberpunk 2077 (19th November) I am happy. I hope the speculated 3rd October Ryzen release is correct.

Considering AMD are doing a talk 8th October for their CPUs I very much doubt we will see them launch prior to it.

Nvidia dictate the prices, they can take hits and have it not even count. Exchange rates change all the time. Profit has to be made or a company goes bust.

Oh believe me, not many companies will go bust with launches like this where they can crank the price as much as they want.

Is what it is, if you want a refund you can get one easy. Ocuk have superb customer service.

also if you PlayStation I don’t really see the crossover. I could never game on a console.

Really?? I’ve been building my own gaming PC’s for 30 years+ but always have at least one current gen console. The PS exclusives alone are more than enough to justify one...

That said, if I could only pick one it would be PC every day. Think I’m about 500 in the queue for a TUF OC (had one ordered elsewhere by 2.10pm but they ‘oversold’ and cancelled on me so jumped straight back on to OC and suffered the site breakages until I got an order through) but looking to a nice upgrade from my 1080ti Sea Hawk EK. Got a 43” 4K monitor so I can’t reduce resolution and it’s struggling to hit mid 40 FPS now. Think a Zen 3 is on the cards (forgive the pun) too! :)
Edit: TUF OC... although seeing all the reviews dearly wish I’d have picked the Strix OC

Cranked? Extra 60 quid? Meh. Really guys common. These cards are expensive. Multi console prices. However In fact consoles would cost way more if it weren’t for the fact they sold in their millions! Out pace a gpu 1000:1.

Been with ocuk 14 years. If you want a 3080 wait. If you don’t like then cancel? It’s ok ocuk is no quibble. What you chose will effect how long you wait. Ocuk don’t make the cards.

Willingness to wait and frustration with the situation are separate. No one is blaming anyone other than NVIDIA for the shortages. I don't want to cancel and I'm willing to wait, but that doesn't mean there isn't still some frustration with this process that could be salved by information.

What has gone a long way is being on the forum. Honestly, couldn't have been kept more sane than keeping up with this forum. The makeshift queue and the constant updates have gone such a long way. Being positive, the community here has excellent customer service.

Extra 60 quid? It's over 100+ extra in some instances.

30 years for me too, I love pcs, they are my livelihood too. But I’ll hoop if I have to play on a console. It’s fine you like both but not me and that’s cool.

It’s been 5 days and I would love my card now but that’s not going to happen.

It's not even about when the card comes, it's about transparency, the other company (which I will not name) have stopped taking preorders so they can meet the demand of their current orders and have also updated customers on when stock is due, OC is STILL taking preorders and have barely given any information about stock or when it may be due.

Overclockers have been radio silent pretty much all day today and we have had no such updates, tidbits here and there but nothing solid or even guesstimated, the reality is, OC have the customers money, lots of it and they are doing what seems like the absolute bare minimum right now, at best it's not good customer service at all, at worst it seems very greedy and very suspect, anti-consumer I would say.

I have always used Overclockers for everything before PC related and never had a single issue but this whole thing even prompted me to return to the forums and essentially complain about the way they are dealing with things.

People should stop defending poor customer service and acknowledge it for what it is.

TUF OC... although seeing all the reviews dearly wish I’d have picked the Strix OC

Wait, reviews are out? Fiiiinally. I've been tearing myself down thinking I should have gone TUF, given the lack of reason for Strix - got any links?

I hope @Gibbo manages to let us know about the shipment results today like he mentioned in the updates post for ASUS cards, said he would, assume he's busy :(

It'll come. Hopefully yours'll be in the delivery tomorrow, though I thought I saw somewhere that retailers were being asked to delay delivery until Monday. Grumble.

Asus have literally told PC gamer to contact Etailers for information about stock and when it will replenish, so as customers, when we ask about ASUS, why are we getting no information? Even if the information is "we have no information currently" that's better than radio silence.
