Does inflation have zero effect of these costs? Rent costs, energy costs, increase in wages costs?

Inflation has been offset by the huge numbers of gamers now. Think about how much worldwide coverage Sony can sell. I think it every single part of the world. How many games are sold, then factor the form factor. No expensive cartridges to be made. At most a cheap cover and bluray disc. Even lower with digital. Now we have house holds with some having 2 consoles per gen in them. A publisher operating with a small full time staff, reaching say 30x more customers on a single realise. Then factor in publishers and how many yearly "update", games they release. Dlc, skins, character payments.
The Game Collection are solid as well.

I can see where you are coming from. How many of those 2 house consoles are buying the game twice though? How many of the big companies (I'm using EA as an example) have piled 100s of millions into game development only for the game to bomb (I'm thinking the last few Star Wars games as examples).
Books have to be balanced and anyone is entitled to some profit.
I reserved the Pulse? headset for my son when I reserved in store at Game. Though as nobody has yet experienced/tested these its a bit of an unknown as to whether or not they'll be better than his current PS4 headset.
I'm keeping an eye out also for the media remote as I think my disc drive equipped pre-order will replace the 4k bluray player in the living room (though that will depend on whether or not it supports Dolby Atmos/Vision etc) for film discs.
With less than 2 months to go until launch, Sony have been very very stingy in the information department.
Star wars would have been okay. EA isn't the best example. They have a monopoly on every sports game. I think the last NFL game did more damage for them and Anthem. They can bank roll that cause yearly sport releases are more or less pure profit. Small studios can make more interesting ips cause at its core theories maybe 10 people work g on it full time. Every company is entitled to profit but is it fair when nba2k games make massive profit but then say they need to up the price more because of development costs even though the base game is there already and they just add a few small extras and a very basic career mode? Microsoft are doing free upgrades for Gears 5, Forza Horizon 4, Sea of Thieves, and others. Meanwhile, Sony require anyone wanting an upgraded version of Spider Man to buy the Ultimate Edition of Miles Morales? That's poor.
Not saying they should necessarily give it away. But it isn't a good look by comparison.
MS NEED to offer these incentives to increase their numbers. Sony don't. Sony are hoping their good run continues from last PS3 all the way through to PS5 and are being fairly cocky in this approach.
It could bite them in the rear but I can't see it happening.
I wouldn't expect a free upgrade on a game I bough a couple of years ago to "next gen" tbh. Sure, its a nice to have but I think at this point in the game, people have already decided which team they are joining (Be it Xbox or PS).

Especially when your disagreements didn't even make sense to start with telling me to not buy games or mtx, even though i was actually talking about the massive profits some companies make from little effort but still claim poverty. Hell I even said I can understand smaller companies charging more, especially for SP games if it has a good campaign... But you wanted to blab on.
