The 3090 is really good value when compared to the prior Titan, minus some Titan features. If you work in media/rendering from home and enjoy gaming, this is the card for you. The 3080 crashes out on quite a few rendering tasks, due to its much lower VRAM.

Agreed, people should cancel their 3080 orders immediately ;)

Good on you mate. I would have done the same if I'd have had better signal. Ignore the salty losers

People aren't salty, they're ******. Most folk can't stand opportunists who look to exploit situations all the time, just to make a quick buck, ESPECIALLY in the tech consumer market. I wouldn't **** on one if they were on fire. Then again, I'll always have this video to cheer me right up.

I've got two orders for 3080 cards that i'm trying to cancel on two orders. I took a punt on the white vision card the other night - but i've just lost the plot. I'm getting right out of dodge and waiting til the mania dies down. I filled the cancellation form in for one of the cards. but you can only respond to the form once apparently.....so i can't cancel the card. Am i ok to contact CS do you think?

Sensing a little hostility here! Was trying to be helpful. The other card I ordered was an Xtreme and this has not yet been shipped! Not ordered through OC's as it was £95 cheaper on ********

You're as helpful as a broken down lorry standing across M25 at 8AM and I hope your tea goes cold in an instant for the rest of your days

Where did You get idea its a gaming card ??

Well, the product page.

“The GeForce RTX™ 3090 is a big ferocious GPU (BFGPU) with TITAN class performance. It’s powered by Ampere—NVIDIA’s 2nd gen RTX architecture—doubling down on ray tracing and AI performance with enhanced Ray Tracing (RT) Cores, Tensor Cores, and new streaming multiprocessors. Plus, it features a staggering 24 GB of G6X memory, all to deliver the ultimate gaming experience.

Nvidia have been spamming everywhere that this is the first 8K gaming card
They said its first card that CAN game at 8k You need to learn reading between lines. Quadro can also can play 8k games would not call it a gaming acrd.

That's hysterical!! :D

People saying - "just give me a date" this is an unrealistic expectation. Some people seem to think that the manufacturers all have lots of parts and GPUs lust lying around. There are many companies involved in the manufacture of a single graphics card, Micron are probably having to ramp RAM production, then you have brackets, the shrouds, power controllers to name a few all of these usually have a 3+ month lead time to ramp production and many of the components will be shared across cards and manufacturers. Its going to take time for each manufacturer to get ETA's from each component manufacturer plus Samsung for the actual GPU to then be able to give a timescale for increased production to give you an ETA.

Throwing your toys at a retailer is not going to speed this process up.

Sorry, but this is a bit of BS.

It's simple math: "number of cards received on average per week / number of overall orders = lead time" I work in electronics manufacturing, we know EXACTLY what we can get out of the door each day/week/month and can accurately predict exactly when customers can receive goods based on the number of orders. It takes a set time to make ANY electronics item, this give you a daily output figure, Nvidia will know how many chips they can spit out. They've simply massively underestimated demand, and over-hyped the cards so there was a near bloodlust on launch, leaving us, the consumer, out of pocket.

I'm a patient guy, don;t get me wrong, but by now OcUk should be providing us with lead times. Burying their heads in teh sand is what is aggravating people.

You need to read the actual lines. You asked who said it was a gaming card. The answer is definitively Nvidia.

"all to deliver the ultimate gaming experience."

"8K HDR Gaming"

Just a couple of quotes from the official Nvidia 3090 page: https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/graphics-cards/30-series/rtx-3090/
