Why is everyone looking at legal information to try and force him to publicly say "we don't know, we are as annoyed as everyone else"
Jesus, its hardly good for OC to lose preorders because people don't know but he can only filter down in he gets.
Be patient we are all in the same boat

We're not though, not compared to other companies.

I too would really appreciate a bit more info than this.

Really eager to get my hands on a Strix card. Always do when I can! :)
I wanted a strix this time round but read there was a delay with them until 24th and couldn't justify the extra 200-300 quid so I just went for the TUF OC (which will prob be outdated by the time I actually get it)

He told me they have 1800 of those specific cards in the backlog. They're working on que positions and a landing page for orders that have been placed.

The 1800 number is interesting, since it provides a data point to compare with the spreadsheet (which IIRC people who asked have been told overestimated the orders).

The spreadsheet currently estimates that 2700ish TUFs sold, the second most after the MSI Gaming Trio's 2850ish. Or we are overestimating by maybe 50% compared to what they actually had ordered.

It's not such a bad idea to be fair. No new is good news apparently, but not in this case.
As we creep closer to October, you may as well see what AMD bring to the table.
If there's still a lack of communication or guarantee by 1st October, I think I'll be out too.
It's all subjective here but I'm not sure I agree. In this case, we have orders with a place in the queue and if you don't *need* the money now (and have disposable enough to shop elsewhere), the best move is to keep the pre-order and look elsewhere (not places doing pre-orders, the places that are only showing when stock is actually in). When you secure an order and are given information on dispatch dates or see the dispatch, then cancel this one.

That's my thinking anyway. At the moment, there's really no way at all to know if/when the item will be shipped. But what I do know is that when they start shipping, I'm ahead of anyone that orders on that day. I still have access to the places that ship only from stock. So, I'll order from there if I'm lucky enough to see it available.

@degen Does your order still say pending or has it gone further? Mines pending, still waiting on 2nd email.

I got my second email today at 14.00 - 32 hours after the order! Now says processing.

So pleased as I can now cancel my AIB order from the bunch of scammers (OCUK and Scam) that are taking pre-orders and money without ever being able to fulfill them.

Wish everyone else luck on their hunt too.

We're having to split the cards throughout the EMEA, so while we are producing thousands it'll be in the hundreds by the time the stock is allocated. This is improving shipment by shipment but the number of flights globally is still massively done which also effects shipment times and costs too.
That is the thing we are looking for! Thanks man i know production and shipping varies but at least now we know that by the time these shipments get allocated to OCUK it won't be in hundreds. Again thanks.

This is what is says online with regards to online orders on Gov uk website

After an order is placed
You must:

  • provide a copy of the contract on paper, by email or another format the customer can save for future reference
  • provide the copy of the contract no later than when the goods are delivered
  • deliver the goods within 30 days, unless you’ve agreed otherwise with the customer

Having worked in eCommerce for over 20+ years and running my own eCommerce company, OCUK could argue those three points as follows:

1 - Provided the order confirmation within 24 hours, along with details of the order, possible lead time issues and the right to cancel.
2 - The copy of that contract is both part in the email and on the website as per links to T&C's, Privacy and so on. They are very likely to have a disclaimer that will annul any claim for the delay with the customers' order.
3 - Placing a preorder is that, you are preordering with the expectation of receiving it at a later date. That date is reliant on stock, stock is reliant on manufacture. OCUK are then beholden to the information provided to them from the Manufacturer of the card. There is no law to state how often or not a store should update with regards your preorder or in what format that should take.

All fair enough, will remind you however that some did order based on the ETA date that was listed with the card when the pre-order was placed.

I ordered the MSI Ventus because it was advertised with a date about 3 days later.

I don't care as it stands but just putting that out there.

The day isnt out yet and gibbo can only give information that he is allowed to he has always done a stellar job of giving what info he has as and when its avaliable from what I can tell over the years

Its a simple case of sit tight and see how it pans out or pull your money and take your chances elsewhere

I'm not a fan of them taking my money and not knowing anything other than little bits of spoon fed info but thats just how the cookie crumbles at the end of the day

You need to all just have a long hard think about what you think is best for you and make a informed decision and face that this is the way its going to be .... if they do a official queue calculator or not

Well lets start with what every other online retailer is doing ! Everyone else selling cards at the moment have set a PRE ORDER LIMIT ! OC Have not........

Todays PS5 Pre orders again from all the main parties had a pre order limit set in place...... They have done this and have given everyone a release DATE ! ETA on the arrival of goods. again OC have not. That is not a cool way to run a business and expect they will get really bad reviews over the coming months when people still don't have a 3080 or 90 CARD Come Jan / FEB 2021

I cancelled my order for the simple fact I worked it out I was 9000th customer to order a card lol !

Inno3D are sending some stock to OCUK in 'a short time', make of that what you will but the company were decent enough to respond to my question earlier today so well done them especially as their main customer base appears to be in the far east

Not sure what's going on with MSI they've gone awfully quiet

There is no law to state how often............but common courtesy to their customers is another matter

Good luck hope you get your card in the end.

man I’ve seen so many ppl cancel today on mass, I should be happy as a step closer ect but I’m starting to get worried my order could possibly take months and I’m seeing ppl on here getting cards elsewhere or taking a punt by getting there money back and taking there time hoping stock pops up else where....

I had a very similar email from them I posted a few pages back. Never used them before but if the cards are as good as their prompt response we should be good. I hope the stock comes next week! I've looked back at historical launches (1000,2000 series) and they seemed to provide cards to the UK 10 days after the launch of each card relative to their official launch date. Fingers crossed

Pretty poor that we have to resort to speaking to AIBs because OCUK don't update us whilst having our money
