Was a bit more yes, but worth it to me. Only £30 more than OcUK's current price and I don't have to wait with 1000s of others. I've seen many other retailers gouge a lot, lot worse.
I'm just glad to be off the train obsessed with waiting for stock and monitoring for FEs to restock and looking for other cards elsewhere. I really wanted the TUF after seeing reviews. I could be waiting a month or two at least for my GB Eagle with OcUK which was only ordered 30 mins after launch! The lack of information was driving me mad and I'd been using an old GPU after selling my 2070S. Stupid me thought it'd be fairly obtainable to get the new GPU, didn't realise Nvidia would be the pinnacle of how NOT to launch a new product.
Just glad I can finally enjoy the 3080 I was after from tomorrow, rather than torment myself for weeks/months waiting and waste my time. Spend my free time back on gaming!

I also ordered on this basis: we have a few in stock, with more available for this date. What a ******* sham it is/was. I'm not cancelling out of spite, but I suspect this will be my last ever purchase from OcUk. Absolutely deplorable to maintain radio silence whilst sitting on £10+ million of OUR money.
There was only 3 OC in last shipment
14:41 wasn't bad considering it took me until 15:15 to order the same card due to overloaded site

Think at one point I had six pre-orders on the go (across multiple sites). Really wanted the FE but despite having one in my basket I just couldn’t check out.
Had baskets on four sites desperately trying to check out. Finally managed on another site so abandoned my baskets. 2 hours later an email to say they’d oversold and order cancelled. Straight back on to all the sites but it was torturous... managed to get a few orders through (including three on OcUk) but have since cancelled all bar one on here. ASUS TUF OC. One of the later ones I placed (about 9.50pm) and like 550 in the unofficial queue, but you know what? It’s the only AIB I wanted (performance/price), so happy to keep on waiting. Will always keep tabs on the FE but otherwise... c’est la vie!
Going to buy a Ryzen 5000 (5950X I presume) when they’re out, and will need a waterblock for the card too so not like I can put it in my system any time soon anyway. Probably spend another £1500 or so upgrading and only want to flush/redo my loop once so I’m actually happy to wait.
Agree, it would be nice to have some indication of stock movements from OcUK directly, but they’ll be run off their arses at the moment. Think we all just need to chill. Fingers crossed for more news and more activity next week!!

I'm a noob at building PC's and need some advice on the GPU power cables. I have a Corsair TX850M PSU, and don't get how I am supposed to provide 3 x 8 pin power connectors to the Rog Strix 3080 OC - I would like to get myself some custom braided cables but have no clue what I am supposed to get, or even if I might need a different PSU??

Been monitoring this since page 170-ish. figured I'd finally add my unfortunate experience: I used amazon pay to complete my order, figured that would be faster: they already had current card and address information. went through at 15:11. woohoo! two and a half hours later, amazon informs me they thought it was suspicious, and instead of just asking me if I placed the order, they denied payment & deleted my card and address information. my current order is now at 17:46. soo basically amazon cost me at the very least a month, likely more. lesson learned I suppose. fwiw, gigabyte gaming OC, 17:46 & unofficial queue 256.
Unfortunately not, but fingers crossed for next week, I think this will be the one, failing that I may have to reconsider.

Very simialr to me with Barclaycard. Got the order through at 14:03, payment declined, suspected fraud. By the time I got through to them, and they cleared the payment, it was too late. Payment went through at 16:43. RIP. This was even despite me ringing them to tell them I'd be making a payment of up to £1k to OcUk. They cost me 2 months of waiting.
