Is this still being updated? If so, here's my order and time.

Product:
Asus GeForce RTX 3090 ROG Strix Gaming OC 24GB GDDR6X PCI-Express Graphics Card
GX-44J-AS

Order date: 24 Sep 2020 14:00:00

Order number: OC4045024

Delivery method: DPD Next Day (Mon-Fri)

After reading up on more reviews post launch I'm super concerned that the Zotac card i've ordered is essentially of a much lower quality to the card I really wanted the ROG Strix OC.

The Strix difference of atleat 9% in performance through overclocks. Power limit can be pushed to 480w instead of the limit at 350w.

Plus this discussion of POSTCAPs vs MLCC.

Given the wait time we're probably looking at anyway, anyone think I should lose my Q position, cancel and reorder?

I would, or you'll always have that negative feeling towards the Zotac in the back of your mind.

No one can answer this question for you. But knowing what I know about the ROG Strix now I’m certainly glad that was my choice.

If you ordered now you could be in for a very long wait indeed. But you know that. Depends whether it’s more important to you. Patience will reward you a better card, but with the Zotac you’ll have it sooner.

I’ve owned two Zotac cards fairly recently. A 2080ti and a 2060 Super. Both developed rattling fans and so I am 100% not a fan of the brand. Don’t let that sway you, I’m just sharing my own experiences.

Called OCUK up.

They put a ROG STRIX OC on the same order number, so I've not lost my placement essentially.

Feeling better about it now.

Until my Strix arrives I'm still using a Zotac 1080ti AMP card and it also has a rattling fan. Occasionally have to get under the desk, pop the side panel off and stop the fan with my finger a few times to temporarily stop it

Also as if in response to me ordering a new PSU my current one has decided to start whining

Yeah, one card with a rattling fan I can forgive. Happens. And I did forgive Zotac and purchased a 2060 Super to fill in till I get my 3090. The fact it also very quickly developed a rattle — bearing in mind I meticulously dust my system inside and out once a week — that points to cost-cutting and poor QC. Interesting to hear you too have this issue.

So Zotac is a never again for me. Bit like AMD. Now there’s a horror story for another time.

Hang on...so you've just swapped your Zotac order for the Asus card and retained your position in the Q ? - really you should be at the back of it now as you've basically just pushed in....

Nice :) Peace of mind = worth the extra ££. Card looks visually amazing as well. Going to be vertically mounting mine in an EvolvX, can't wait :D
