I think everyone has totally differing opinions on Game Pass. :D For me, on PC it is just totally "meh" but looking at the Xbox list, I'd be like a kid in a sweet shop, mainly because of all the Xbox 360 games that aren't on PC.

Fable trilogy, all the Gears games, all the old Rare games like Kameo and Viva Pinata, Nier Automata, Quantum Break, none of them are on PC game pass off the top of my head. Then you get EA Play without having to faff about with Origin.

I'm really looking forward to playing a metric tonne of games because I'm going to be going for all those achievements. I've got a fresh new gamertag with 0 achievement score which I'm going to build up. At my ripe old age, such things shouldn't really be of concern but I love trophies on PS3/4. And I've got some catching up to beat my nephews' scores. :D

Tried Fable anniversary on OPC but it didn't hold up well. Are the console ones upgraded with the 4k thingy? TBH it was more the controls that irked me.

Edit: I forgot about the EA bit. Also I setup a new gamertag too mainly because I didn't want any issues with the upgrade trick and I wasn't attached to the other having had a 360 and an X1X for the grand total of about 3 weeks.

Yeah, I think all of Microsoft's first party games are Xbox One X enhanced to 4K. Maybe I'm looking at things through rose-tinted specs conjuring up good memories of the Xbox 360 days and things will actually be really rubbish after being used to more modern games. I dunno.

I played through Fable 3 last month and really enjoyed it, plenty of nostalgia and it held up pretty well, next gen Fable can't come quick enough now

Are we going to see RTX3080 style scenario when the series X launches, as in no stock anywhere? Might consider picking one up middle of November

Nobody knows but I think it's a matter of luck, for example on the day pre-orders went live, I got up at 9.30am, logged on to Very and got one right away. Think you just need to keep an eye on all the retailers whenever you can and cross your fingers.

Regarding EA games on games pass, will they be the latest versions? meaning will Fifa 21 be included or will it be last years Fifa 20?

Retailer will always get pre-order and allocated stocks for sale. Remember when the Switch launched it was sold out everywhere and there were more copies of Breath of the Wild sold than actual consoles because people where buying the game before the console.

I remember watching a movie and it finished at 23:45, I came out and remember Switch was coming out at midnight and walked into town into GAME who were doing a midnight launch and picked up both the console and limited edition of the game with the Master Sword.

The only snag this year is COVID might put a stop to this midnight opening thing, but nothing stopping you chancing it going to a store when first thing in the morning.

I was thinking more like a week after launch day

They get deliveries weekly/daily I guess, it is how retail works so there will always be stock but depends if they operate a reservation policy then it will just be a waiting list?

Will see I guess

Still hoping for rtx3080 or big Navi but the price of Xbox it just seems like ya know why not buy it.

Can I ask why people who already own powerful PC’s are buying an Xbox? Pretty much every game will be released on PC too.

4K 65” TV.
Sofa gaming.
Not every game comes to PC immediately.
No faffing with patches, driver updates, hardware instabilities, graphics options.
Some games port poorly.
PC prices have become a joke with few decent games and even fewer needing the top hardware.
I swear I can never tell the difference between games on consoles that seem to run medium/high and ultra on PC. Horizon Zero Dawn being one of the most recent examples.
Gamepass is fractionally better on consoles, even more so over the coming months.
I have aircon in the lounge, not my gaming room.

I always said I’d start to make the transition next gen now that consoles are in the same kind of ball park. It also ties in with an exhausting job where by the time I’m home I just want to slump on the sofa and game - the number of times I’ve loaded up my PC to have to deal with some kind of random issue (it’s not overclocked either).

  • I'm getting fed up with PC gaming, the extortionate costs of GPU's coupled with the fact you can never get one for MSRP any more as retailers price gouge - This doesn't happen with consoles.
  • Less faffing with settings - just load up game and forget, as it's all been optimised for the set hardware in the console.
  • Game pass on console has games not available on PC game pass
  • Better HDR implementation on consoles vs PC
  • Majority of friends only have a console, so what very few multiplayer titles I do play, will be console only.
  • Less hackers and cheaters in multiplayer in comparison to PC
  • The talk that K/B + Mouse support for certain games is also a plus.

Does Xb allow you to put notes next to friends? Often I add people from here etc then forget who they are due to different forum name.
