Turn down your texture setting so it doesn’t swap out.

All cards get slow as new games push the limits.

Yet my 1080ti, which is 4 years old can still play modern games at 1440p with no bother. Having to turn down yout textures because Nvidia only added 10Gb of ram is a bit of a stupid situation.

I don't get how people are still insisting that its driver related when the EVGA product manager himself admits they discovered the issue and took a full week of R&D and eventually added 20 mlcc.

Sure a driver might sort the issue temporarily but its not a fix ( given that you can almost guarantee new cards will not have this issue )

I think it's combination of poor cap implementation and a gpu boost curve that's too aggressive. In most tests the 3080 is drawing nearly 100w more than the 2080, so these fps gains are at the expense of 50% more power.

Don't think so, the order/receipt says "£0.00 x 1 - FREE WITH GX-36B-MS: NVIDIA RTX Bundle Promotion - Watchdogs Legion & GeForce NOW" So it would be a violation specially since we already paid for it.
The problem will be this. If NVidia only provided 1000 codes to OCUK. And, they sold more than 1000 3080 cards before pulling the "FREE bundle" line (which they must have since I have it on my order from 15:25 which MUST have been more than 1000 cards in). Whether it's a violation of something or not. They just won't have the codes to give everyone unless NVidia provides more.

Now as to whether they will provide some form of compensation for the fact they can't deliver all vouchers is another matter. If they physically don't have enough codes they can't give everyone the codes.

@Topcat FCD

I think it was stated somewhere they had been using cheap nasty Capacitors in the first place hence their issue.

Even cards with good layouts including the FE have been shown to crash, they are just trying to boost to a far too high speed.

They will easily run at the speed quoted on the box and in specs, it is just NV boost is far to aggressive for majority of the cards.

That is my take from various posts and videos.

One of the staff said they've asked for Nvidia for more codes and are waiting for them.

As I recall they said they asked for them but didn't know if they would get more and if the delay goes on "too" long for some cards that have received no stock so far some people might receive cards after the cut-off date anyway.

There's a lot of "we'll see" involved in all of this. But, if they don't get new codes, they can't give many (probably the majority) codes.

If Nvidia doesn't honour their offer, then OcUK won't be able to either. But I completely expect Nvidia to come through and give codes for everyone.

Well see it's a tough one to call. If NVidia said "first 1000" and OCUKs systems sold more than 1000 with the offer attached. Then NVidia don't really need to do anything to help. They might well do. But I'm not convinced they would be under any real compulsion to.

Anyway, it's all conjecture. We'll see. :)

Legally they can't advertise sometime and then just change their mind, Even nvidia is still advertising the bundle on their site as well as OCUK. So it would be illegal to do so.

That's why there's always a "while stocks last" in the fine print somewhere.

Can anyone confirm how long it's taken to receive confirmation of a pre order cancel using the link Gibbo provided?
Sent my cancel request late in the evening out was action the next morning. Money was back a few days later but it was on a credit card so takes a few days anyway.

Anything been said about sending us queue positions? I seem to have missed it, thought that was going to happen last week. I get that it's not a certain thing to send us because it can change, but given that it can only improve, it's still extremely useful information to us.

I think ocuk has given up on giving the customers information at this point.

Shame because they did kinda say they would sort that out. That would probably shut us up a bit so can only be to their advantage. Then again I can totally see some higher up guy interjecting with "you told them they'd get queue positions?! Are you mad?? You definitely can't do that" etc

I got an MSI Gaming X Trio 3080 from a competitor, and still haven't got the promotional codes despite being promised it on Friday 25th at the latest... I got my order shipped straight away too :/
Not a major deal-breaker, and happy to wait longer if necessary.

Still got an order in with OCUK though to replace my partner's aging GTX 970 card, which is what my 3080 replaced for me too.
