No, as you need it bright to actually get the benefit of seeing the brighter toned colours on the telly. So adjust the brightness![]()

From a very quick google this explains the issue.

Put it another way, you CAN reduce the brightness but potentially at the expense of the HDR.
Yeah it is definitely better to be more comfortable.I have the C9 and have set 3 presets to cater for the brightness of the room. I guess being comfortable on the eyes is more important to me than the absolute best HDR experience.
I'm probably going to buy a Sony XH9005, i'm just waiting to make sure Sony releases the HDMI 2.1 software update..
I reckon that'll be a good shout. My xe was great. Better motion handling than my C9 by far. OLED is great but the LGs suck in that area.

I'm still on the Sony 42" 1080p TV i bought with my original Xbox One in 2013, so any 4k TV will be a big upgrade for me
I was also looking at the LG CX or C9 as everyone recommends them, but for the extra money it would cost i don't think it's worth it to me. The 55" Sony is £1k, the 48" CX is £1.5k.
Interesting side by side here ->

Expensive day then!Just ordered a CX 65” OLED for the PS5 after reading up on what’s the best about/posting in the home cinema thread, spent more then I Thought but I’m sure it will be worth it.
Also ordered a Sonos arc soundbar to go with it![]()

Any recommendations in the 43" screen size, originally I was looking for 40" but the choice is awful so going to try and squeeze a 43" in.
The LG budget models seem to be ok once all the motion smoothing rubbish is turned off and there doesn't seem be much difference between models apart from aesthetics until you get into the bigger screen sizes

Isn't the C9 pretty much the same as the CX? It has hdmi 2.1 and I can't imagine the imagine quality being much different to the CX tbh.
