Doesn't matter though does it, the damage is done and there are obviously people going to have already jumped from the ones trashed on early Youtube videos about the Cap issue true or not

Yeah I know, such incorrect news spreads like crazy, doesn't help it was being magnified on youtube. Still, the internet was wrong. :)

Received my "Your order has been shipped" email at 16:37 today

Asus TUF OC, order time 14:09 on the 17th

Order number: 58602XX

Code for the promo followed in another email shortly after

Sorry but you are wrong... Someone who ordered at 5pm can swap for card that only been ordered 50 times and get it before someone who ordered at 14:25 because there was 200 orders before him for such card

You are right if you mean they both end up getting different cards.

OC have stated the first come first server is based on your order time - and you are free to switch your order to a different card and not be put to the back of the queue - you will be put in the queue for your new card at the place you would have been if you ordered it instead of the one you originally selected.

Cust 1 orders a TUF card at 14:05 order number xxx10 - but say he has 100 people in front of him waiting for that card
Cust 2 orders a MSI card at 14:06 order number xxx11 - but say he only has 3 people in front of him waiting for that card

If cust 1 decides to now swap to a MSI as he does not want to wait for 100 orders in front to be fulfilled, he can swap to be in the MSI queue - but still at 14:05 and with the same order number.

He has jumped in front of cust 2 who now has 4 people in front of him - the problem is this can be a lot of people doing this and with such tight order times, who knows where you will end up.

If both customers stick with their original orders and 10 MSI and 10 TUF cards come in - yes the customer who ordered later will get their card first, but thats how it should be.

My point was getting your order in earlier gives you the option to switch to any card you like and jump ahead in that particular card queue - you still might be waiting longer than those looking at a Palit or other low ordered cards.

I'm going to assume it's related to how their payment system works. If they cancel your original order they probably have to refund the money and then create a new order. By amending your existing order this isn't an issue for them.

Doesn't matter how their payment sytem works
Anyone changing their order should go to the back of the queue for that card with a new order number
Really questionable business practice
Seems they would rather let you switch cards than cancel
Very poor form

Yo know its good for all to be delayed the shipment, the issue with all 30 series gpu not solved yet, so if you want to overclock to high frequency u should wait.
I'm not really fussed about OCing, but good point about the issues being resolved. I guess the crappy launch was somewhat of a blessing tbh

Been keeping up with the thread as I ordered a 3080 but eventually decided to cancel. Think I'll wait to see what big Navi can do or just pick one up later hopefully the prices go back to the ones on the Nvidia site not £40 or more over it.

But 1 thing still baffles me about OCuk. Why when people are trying to get a 3080 that ordered on the 17th are they still letting people pre-order? Every other site I've looked at has just removed that option which will be far easier to keep up with them as they clear backlogs etc
