Seems like the board prices are coming down now as well, steady reductions on B550's and B450's, so X570's, might be some people getting big upgrades, and big bargains at the same time. :)

Am wondering what the prices are doing myself. Looking at the B550 Mortar as currently a decent price and has the ports i want. I might crack before the 8th, can only see the Mortar going up in price.

Seems all but confirmed at this point yeah... I haven’t seen anyone rebuffing the 5xxx naming scheme.

All the bitching about mobile being architecturally a generation behind the desktop versions of the same “series” clearly got to them lol.

But why the 5000 series will include Zen 2 refresh?!

Interestingly, the Ryzen 5000U series would allegedly feature both Cezanne (Zen3) and Lucienne (Ze2) processors in the lineup.

Upgrading from an LGA1366 Intel i7 930 Nehalem 2.8Ghz CPU. Very excited for this launch!

Any new motherboards coming out for the release? Have been looking at the x570 Aorus master. Not sure if I should pick one up now as they may creep up in price during release of these new chips?

No sign of an X670 yet, no, and think we probably would have heard something by now if they were coming.

All current X570s will need a BIOS update, though.

I'm in you same position and I was looking to the aorus master too, but at the moment i would wait at least until the 8th to know if there will be any new chipset or x570 refresh upcoming

Been looking at which motherboard to buy ;), these 2 seem to interest me msi x570 tomahawk wifi which is around £200 and has one of the best VRM, also the Gigabyte x570 Aorus Ultra because of the 3 M.2 Gen 4 slots but is slightly more, cant stand spinnin drives anymore so like the option to fill more slots in the future

The Aorus Master is very good but I'd try to make sure there isn't an X670 version before buying.

I'd just use a PCI-E M.2 expansion card if you want more M.2 slots in future.

Thinking about finally jumping ship with the 5000 series coming out. Looking to get a 5900X with a Gigabytex570 Aorus Ultra motherboard.

One thing that’s on my mind, will the motherboard come with a compatible bios installed for the 5000 series as if not how will you be able to get it going.

Or is it likely there will be a refresh of motherboards for compatibility with the 5000 series (which would make sense) for people jumping over to AMD?
