Here's a little food for thought.
Nvidia has pushed the launch date back for the RTX3070 by two weeks, citing as reasons "to avoid customers getting frustrated at a lack of stock".
That would imply that they feel they can build up adequate stock in the period between 15th October & the 29th. If that is sufficient time then we should certainly begin to see some very big inroads into the queue situation within the next two weeks, unless of course Nvidia have decided to concentrate on not allowing the RTX3070 to be as complete a disaster as the 3080 have been and switch production across.
It's probably unlikely they would do that given an even longer extension to the 3080 waiting times, and risking people downscaling to the 3070 or even AMD.
I'm pretty sure that's not the main reason for the delay seeing as AMD announce their products and prices the day before new launch date. It just happens to also look good if they delay as they at least appear to be doing something. I doubt it will have much effect on stock though.
