*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Why are people mad about a company doing preorders?

Apple sells millions of iPhones every year... if you’re not in the first batch of lucky customers you could be waiting months without a new phone. This is particularly annoying if you’re paying £80 a month on the upgrade programme.

The fact that OcUK let you preorder at least guarantees you’ll have a card at some point. They’re not a finite supply... they won’t run out before getting to your order. It’ll just take longer to fulfil it.

Don’t want to preorder? You don’t have to.

I agree I for one am glad OC is allowing pre-orders stops me constantly refreshing websites hoping for stock to drop like I did with my switch, drove myself mad. I also like having my price locked in, and I've already paid it, I can forget about it now and know I've got one coming and for MSRP which isn't available anywhere other than FE anymore. With that said I can understand if you're like 4 digit in the queue and paid over msrp you'd be annoyed but still if you got the cash pre-order here and if you happen to find one before grab that and cancel here one OC seem quite quick with refunds.

3080 Strix OC's seem to be shipping in Europe. This is from Sweden:

First of all its a plane not a ship
That one went out last Tuesday
Another one going out this Friday

There is a UK distributor who splits the stock between the retailers/etailers i think

the Early cards was sent out by plane but the majority of stock will be sent by ship which can take 25-35 days port to port so most the stock will be out at sea and very little will be shipped by plane

I guess zotac isn't this side of 2020 then? Heard nothing at all from them, neither has OC mentioned them since the release batch

Zotac like others will only sending out by ship they can’t give out update when stock is in such long transport I expect to see updates on zotac end of next week. I have pre ordered a zotac trinity oc card and waiting for news myself but I don’t expect any till next week at the earliest

Finally heard back from customer service. Didn't receive a mail about my queue number.

Order Number: 58619**
Date ordered: 17/09/2020 15:13:38
Gigabyte Eagle

"Hello, Sorry for the delayed reply - I can't confirm the exact Q position as the system used to send the emails is different than the original we've used previously due to some internal adjustments that were needed. However based upon the old system you're 854 in the Q, but this may be slightly less/higher. It's the best indication I can give you at this time until we send another mailer next month, or when further stock lands.

At the moment there is no confirmed ETA on further stock, but based upon your Q position it will be a while as it will be months before we see substantial stock."

I should be about 200 or so I think, but no. I am number 854 in the queue MAYBE. That is if I am in the queue. What a joke. OC clearly don't want me as a customer.
Hi Nigel,
There is no way you can be 854. Based on your order number, that would mean half the customers ordered the Eagle up to that point.
That is obviously nonsense, as most sales were going on the MSI Trio at that time, let alone all the other cards.
I'm quite shocked that customer services would not at least reassure you and give a realistic position.

I'm pumped, so anyone who got a 3080 TUF OC, be happy, because the queue positions came out on the 29th, and a batch came in on the 31st and now we'll get one tomorrow, meaning most likely anyone in the queue from 40-90 maybe give or take might get fulfilled.
Queue emails went out on the 2nd, didn't they? After that batch came in.

When i ordered they had a date of stock delivery for the eagle OC listed next to the card. thats the only reason i ordered that model and from this site. They have taken a lot of peoples money deceptively and that certainly leaves a bad taste. By the time they came clean that they had no idea it was ofc too late to order from elsewhere. That practice from a company that proclaims to be so large is awfull tbh. To take full payment is also imho a disgrace. I just wish those in the same position actually had some options. Getting clear updates or information from customer service is like pulling teeth!

I bet there are some scalpers that are getting concerned now, particularly as stock updates will mean their eBay listings are likely to break the terms of service (having to have the item shipped within 30 days).

ps, if anyone sees a listing of a card bought from OcUK... please send it to me. I can give you 1 internet cookie, a virtual hug and a photo of my dog.

People would do their mental health a lot of good by accepting that the overwhelming majority of us will be very late October, more likely November for their cards being shipped, or even just a more steady delivery of stock coming into retailers. Seems insane to me that people are looking at it on a day by day basis and then panicking there hasn’t been any update on their specific card.

It sucks to wait, but you’re gonna be in for a lot of disappointment if you think this is a day by day wait and not a week by week or even month by month one

I was lucky enough to get a 3090 FE on nVidia's drop last Thursday which has just turned up (originally wanted "just" a 3080, but my spending finger got the better of me...).

I've just cancelled my pre order for the Gigabyte Gaming OC 3080, so will bump any of those behind me in the queue (Queue#46 / Ordered 1527).

Good luck to you all, I know the waiting sucks but hopefully you'll get your GPUs soon enough :)

the Early cards was sent out by plane but the majority of stock will be sent by ship which can take 25-35 days port to port so most the stock will be out at sea and very little will be shipped by plane

Any of the cards that are actually landing and being dispatched are air freight still
Pallit shipping air again this Friday

I’m slightly concerned regarding the 2 latest updates from Gibbo about shipments of TUF OC , nothing on Non OC which is worrying

I'm sure I remember seeing somewhere that Asus were mostly building/shipping the OC versions, and that there's no difference between the two except for the bios clocks.

So it may be the case Asus aren't even shipping non OC's yet so you might be waiting some time.
