I would also add that the jump between each concole generation is becoming more and more incrimental (rather than generational), and I really don't think that many late PS4 or XB1 games will look that dated on the PS5 or XsX........at lkeast, not in the same way as they would have between previous console iterations.

I think if we hadn't had the mid generation pro/X update consoles to bring in 4k support the jump from the 2013 PS4 to the PS5 would seem like a much larger leap. The PS4 Pro is only 4 years old so it's hard to make a meaningful step forward in that timeframe.

I kind of want to see the games move forwarded in more than just graphical terms. I'd like to see the power of the PS5 used to step up VR graphics a notch and deliver gaming experiences we haven't had before. I really hope we don't have to wait long until we have information on a PSVR2 headset.

Just for the games you mean or the console itself?

I agree, very strange the games are apparently releasing before the system but maybe it's a side effect of different release dates in various countries and trying to sync physical releases with games also being available digital on the ps store.

Just the games. Global release on games both physical and digital but unfortunately for us scrubs in the UK/EU we have to wait an extra week for the console.

I skipped the Pro so I'm still on the OG PS4 so it'll be a nice jump for me, especially since I've also upgraded my TV from 1080p to 4K as well.

The big draw for me is increasing the 4k performance. Stuff like RDR2 already look pretty decent at 4k, just need that FPS boost to make them even better.

Absolutely. Those going from the 2013 base PS4 to the PS5 who've also upgraded to a 4k TV are definitely going to see that generational leap taking place.

Gonna be good to play through that again. Same with Witcher 3. (The long load times really put me off on ps4pro) hopefully the load times will be much reduced !

Is there any info regarding network connectivity? I mean is the PS5 WiFi-6 and what are the ethernet speeds

Ethernet (10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, 1000BASE-T)IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax Bluetooth® 5.1

1000Mbps and WiFi 6.

Yeah load times suck ass on current gen! Always kept a book handy when playing RDR2. :p Is a more than welcome addition to this new gen.

So what's the deal with my ps4 games that I own digitally or on disc. Can I play them on the PS5?

Got loads I haven't touched yet but would likely trade in my ps4 when I move over.

This is me all over. Just taken stock of a 4k OLED. Roll on the November 19th and my cue up replayables are TLOU 1/2, HZD and then maybe I'll touch AC:V!

They will work but no info if they will be the same as PS4 games or have an unlocked resolution/framerate.

The Pro/One X consoles should have had an SSD, is a joke we're at the end of 2020 before the consoles are getting one of the most basic and fundamental parts of even a low end gaming PC.

Gen 4 NVME SSD's are still pretty uncommon in gaming PC's.

The old consoles wouldn't have been able to take advantage of even a regular SSD either, they improve loading times by a few seconds at best.
