*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

What makes it worse is the spiel on their 'should you pre-order with us' page:

"Although we may not currently have the stock available to fulfill every order immediately, we are in the best possible position to acquire it before every other UK retailer. This means the only place to preorder right now is at Overclockers UK!"

Seems like a lot of smoke blowing to me

Agreed, and I believed them until the pictures started coming in from other stores.

I've seen no one say anything here. Has anyone ever actually received a Gigabyte card they've ordered? or has there not been a single shipment yet, I saw a week ago Aorus put on their twitter that there would be stock sent to the UK within 7 days, and OC have put no information about it, so has anyone received or know of someone who has received a card from Gigabyte?
I believe stock should start coming into the UK from 10th October. That's why I heard from a Aorus Production Manager on reddit

Yeah that and hoping some go for an AMD or 3070.
I'm kind of hoping OCUK have a plan to fill a lot of these pre-orders before then. If they don't, they will end up in even more of a pickle.
What I'm wondering is, if you go for a 3070 pre-order, will that be allowed or will one of the orders be cancelled. Either way, it will get messy!

I'm hoping quite a few folks can't afford to let the payment ride and have pulled out. It's about the only hope I have right now :D:D
Yeah this is the only way to get one. I have zero chance to play Cyberpunk 2077 with ray tracing on. My gtx 1080 will not give me more than 45- 50 fps @ 3440 x 1440 high preset. This is very sad. I could grt 2080TI but I dont want the hassle of selling it later. It is a loose-loose scenario.

AORUS GeForce RTX™ 3080 XTREME 10G Finally clock specs posted, and i'm disappointed... Core Clock 1‎905 MHz (Reference Card: 1710 MHz) Vs then Strix OC Mode - 1935 MHz (Boost Clock), and the Strix OC in reviews showing literally like a 7 fps increase. (Though laughably in some reviews being touted as "Dominating" like shill much lol).

I reckon the Aorus will be the marginally better card

Waiting on Gigabyte Eagle OC here, somewhere in the 600+ range in the queue. Not seen a GB order status in a while (1 near the start), guessing itll be months till i can get my card. Regretting not buying a Palit or something with more stock. I ordered around 4pm ish on the 17th but the payment processing and site crashed shortly after my order so i got pushed back far in the queue. Might consider buying temporary 2060 or something for time being while i wait so i can finish my new PC build.

Is it just me or these reviews not making the card look that good for the money?

I actually feel the opposite. They're clocked to the point where you can't really OC them much further, which means there's a lot less silicone lottery. Also, they managed that at no more than 65c. That sounds pretty great to me!

I sale my 1080 and i have nothing just integrate gpu from motherboard i cant play any game hehe this is a pain

I wouldn't want to be in OCUK's shoes right now. They have a lot of money in their accounts with all these pre-orders but since 17th of September they received 30-35k orders (GPUs and other items). Their backlog is insane.

Reading up on a few different articles last night the issue was not to do with the yield of the batches but purely demand. So I think the RTX 3070 will have the exact same problem and sell out super quickly. With that being said I think the yields on a RTX 370 would be allot higher and easier to archive. I have nothing to base that off but I imagine being a lower clocked card it's easier to achieve.

"The 3080 and 3090 have a demand issue, not a supply issue," he said. "The demand issue is that it is much much greater than we expected – and we expected really a lot."

Pandemic + WFH + New PC Builders = Very high demand I guess. :D

LOL The silly ***** the sold their supply to bots. regardless the dmg control they try to give!

Based on the spreadsheet tracking queue positions, the 3080 queue across all brands is just shy of 8,700 cards.

Pre orders are still open though so this is a situation of their own making in part.

I know the feeling! I'm sitting 700+ on the Trio.
I have a new P600s case and 850w PSU just sitting here right now. I didn't want to buy all the other components until I have a date for the 3080. I'm very tempted to just crack on and buy another card for the build, but it's not really cost effective. Dilemma!
