*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

So you think companies are fully transparent?

There is no conspiracy here. It's not that there's hundreds of thousands of cards out there but you in particular aren't getting gone. There just aren't any cards to be had. Maybe that will get better when

- shipping containers arrive in the EU
- or when NVIDIA starts producing enough chips for AIBs
- or when Samsungs 8nm is really fully up and running

I agree that it's not transparent as in - we are not being told where the bottleneck is, but it's for sure not within OCUK.

Somethings up, both AIB representatives in this scenario are saying there is information that there is information they can't reveal. I got an email from one of the inno3D team which goes:

Hello Ateek,

We cannot make any statements about delivery times, how much I would like to, but this is not up to us.

For delivery times, please contact the store where you bought the card.

With best regards,

Wouter

The reason is perhaps because it's Golden Week and the factory is closed so he can't say anything because he doesn't know anything, or maybe it's because the order is placed by OCUK direct with inno3d in China and he has no insight into what is happening ?

2020 in real:

In factory:

- Hey guys, how many cards you are making daily?
- We don't know.

Delivery guys:

- Hey, when this unknown number of card will be sent to stock?
- We don't know, as they don't know how many they produce.

Retailers:

- Hey guys, what is the status for our customers that paid a lot of cash?
- We don't know, as no one knows how to do business (suddenly)

By 'transparent' do you mean 'honest, trustworthy, fair?'

I expect a business to act like a business. The IT industry is and has always been cutthroat. It's competitive. And the management of these businesses (myself included) would not want the reputation of being dishonest or unfair. However there are certain reasons why you can't be fully transparent, you would be stupid if you were. Protection of margin is key to anyone in the IT supply chain. Higher margin sales have priority over lower margin. Businesses such as OC have for decades tried to get away from simply being box shifters, added value sales have to take priority. They would be mismanaging their company if it didn't. You also have overhead of staff building the machines. You can't afford as a business to have them sat around twiddling their thumbs.

They are not a public service, they are a business and are acting like one. We might not like it, we might feel its "unfair"! They have staff to pay, revenues and profits to hit and at the same time try to ensure that the customers are happy. It's a hard balancing act, very hard.

So you think companies are fully transparent? Having worked in the IT industry for 25 years at manufacturers, distributors and resellers, let me tell you, I don't need to be wearing a tin foil hat to tell you that you are incredibly naive. As someone in this queue I don't expect transparency. I would think that OC would be foolish not to prioritise their prebuild business, it would be lunacy not to. And the thought of listing everything that they get in is in fact laughable.

Can you imagine a world where the staff assembling the prebuilds are now sitting around, reading the papers because there is a queue. Your naivety must be really attractive to the ladies! Are you blond too?
Blimey Nigel, you have changed your tune!
You were having a good rant about OCUK last week.
I'm guessing you have resolved your issue? :D

Due in today could mean the delivery arrived at 3:30pm and stock wasn’t scanned in to inventory in time for dispatch today.

For sanity sake, I’d always wait 24hrs after a scheduled delivery before donning a tin foil hat

Ok, for sanity sake, I'll stay away from my tin foil hat. But what if after 24 hours still no shipment of the elusive cards will be made? What if on next Monday another small volume of the same TUF OC cards will be announced and the queue still won't be moving forward?

I understand that the warehouse has many more problems than only our graphics cards. This is understandable. But last week there was a small shipment of the same TUF OC cards announced and still nobody claimed they got any of those.

Color me sceptic, but there's something weird here and the lack of communication just fuels the doubts.

So, the new build is complete! Stealthily awaiting a shiny new RTX 3080 to usurp the GTX 1070 from its pcie slot.
i9 10850K and Meg Unify seem to be working well together, at least after bios was updated. Chucked in an extra 16GB of RAM, so its ready to rip....

Well I'm 17th in queue for ASUS TUF OC. And some should have been in today Gibbo said today a small amount. And nothing has shipped for me yet. Order still says received not shipped. I wish they would say how many.
Yeah I'm 4th and still haven't had anything. Here's hoping they send it out first thing tomorrow!

Just like all the Zotac shipments that came in and no one in the queue moved.
