Hello, I am new to OCers forum today, I just ordered Gigabyte Eagle 3080 on 2nd Oct. So yet I am still wonder about queue numbers that I am at?

Yes, we know. We’ve all already posted the same (plus don’t forget full builds!!). Doesn’t mean we can’t still have tongue in cheek fun does it...??![]()
Most competitors have stopped taking preorders now as stock is tiny across the board and arrives in small quantities. You've chosen one of the more popular cards so the wait will be even longer. I'm currently GPU-less now so you're doing better than me!Well, I guess its fine so I can wait. I am still on GTX 770 2gb lol...
this is how big a 40ft container is you can easily fit 3000 inside full to the brim without pallets, you can fit 1500 portable cleaning machines inside without pallets and they are triple the dimensions of the average gpu box, but on pallets of course you could scrape up to 20 pallets worth, which then again depends on the height they stack the gpus![]()
Very true airfreight or freight train I would imagine being their 1st choice but I have no clue of how many they can transport with that type of logistic serviceI went to a container quote shipping web page, and they just don't want to quote for anything of that kind of value, and it's even worse with the things being completely ruined if even a little sea water gets near them. The risk of the things being lost at sea is another factor with a surprising number of containers failing to reach the intended destination.
While an EU distributor might appreciate these stock volumes retailers couldn't handle them, remember this would be just one brand of card.
Think I may cancel my order if this is true https://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3080-20-gb-currently-planned-for-launch-in-december/

I'm in same boat but held off on the 3080 as was hoping the 3090 would be a decent step up. Given Nvidia held off on benchmarks until release day and we all saw only 10-20% for x2 the cost it wasn't a good deal. I've returned to look at the 3080 and find queues running into 1000's on the preferred cards. So I've resigned to just check other vendors now and skip queues altogether. The paper launch has lead to much frustration on here. Money taken up front with poor comms and no ETA. Its all rather sketchy. Good luck to those far up the queues but anyone into the hundreds know it'll probably be 2021 before any decent stock levels land.I am really not happy how this has been handled at all. I ordered my Ventus as it said in stock the following day. I have been emailed saying I am 525 in the queue and by the looks of how little stock they seem to be getting in, I'll be lucky to recieve the goods I paid full price for this year. Think I am just going to cancel and wait on the 3080Ti, I already had to rebuy the same GPU I sold before the 3080 launch because I stupidly thought I'd be able to get one.
Wait.what do i do if i havent been emailed already about my queue postion?
ok, will doWait.
Sorry that’s twice now I’ve seen people say “math”. Are you and the other bloke American ?You might want to redo the math on that one! A GPU box being a third of a cubic metre? It's .000288 I think you missed that it's .32 x.03 x.03

Lol the prices of 2nd hand 2080 ti’s
Surely, many on here in +100 queue positions must be looking towards AMD's GPU launch and comparative performance/pricing by now, it's that close, certainly with no guaranteed 3080s being despatched in time - then the possibility of 20Gb variants from NVIDIA of same 3080s pre xmas - while still holding the option of cancelling with OC... Think it would be foolish not to.
All the time mindful of the extremely poor 30 series launch (undeniable IMO)
Just my 2p - read in to what you will...
