rtx 3080 20gb coming Dec

Think about it what's selling in shops right now, Mosty all 4k tv's some less then £300, Depends on market but things keep getting upscaled.
PC gaming is completely different to buying a budget 4K TV, the most common PC gaming resolution is still 1080p. If anything ultrawides resolutions will be where it goes rather than full 4k/8k on a massive screen, who wants that on a desk.

For those expecting the 3080 20gb to be £1000 I think you may be surprised.
If big Navi is as good as the rumours are saying (3080 performance, 16gb, would have to be cheaper than the 3080) the 3080 10gb may get a small price cut with the 20gb coming in at $800 or even replacing the $700 price point :D
I've not been through all the threads about Navi, when are we expecting them to drop as it stands?

I wont be gaming at 4k for the next 4 years so this will be perfect for me. Then in about 4 years I'll look at a nice 4k monitor and card to compliment each other!

That's what I said back in 2014/2015, now I don't really game anymore. Lost the urge to game regularly. Horrible being older as the gaming urge just diminished

Anything below 4k will be dead soon with things getting pushed up to 8k so on. So that makes gpu's use more memory.

I believe Phil Spencer recently said 8k is unlikely to ever be mainstream in gaming. At a native level anyway. The future is in up scaling technology. Being able to render a game in a lower resolution is way less resource hungry.

Makes sense if you can get much higher framerates and include raytracing etc without having to burn out your gpu trying to push 8k native.

I’m so tempted to get an AMD card purely just to say **** you to Nvidia for the massive mess of this launch, which from what im reading and especially if the 20GB rumour is true for Dec was probably all pre-planned. I do however still have bad dreams about previous experience with then ATI drivers and saying to myself to never purchase one again.

And not to mention the price of decent 4k and 8k monitors...

10GB will be adequate for 98% of the gaming population.

Catch 22

a tuf oc?

Sorry no, MSI Gaming X Trio. Although after reading/watching about MSI recently I wont be purchasing its 20GB brother, EVGA or ASUS for me this time or better yet an FE card, not that ill ever manage to order one, if it ever arrives.. haha.

And a free chicken dinner with it :D

I think the 20GB model will add another £150 plus require another ~20W of power if using 2GB chips. Cost will rise more though if they have to put another set of 1GB chips on the back of the board.

lol yeah, feels like there's more chance of winning the lottery than placing a FE order successfully.
