*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Really starting to question OCs ability to obtain and ship the Strix cards when other etailers are getting them and shipping them. Starting to see people in the UK get them on various forums but yet OC have shipped none.

Well thing is it's certain cards, not just the strix, that just aren't moving here so yeah, me too.

However, positive mental attitude, maybe it's just because they have an outstanding PO on the system for large quantities of various cards to be delivered any day now and it just hasn't turned up yet :D:D:D:D

So Amazon have extended their return period due to the holiday season to 31st January, does anyone reckon I could get away with getting one using it till my 3080 arrives and then return it? Or is it risky?

It’s only morally risky :p
I would lol the amount of people doing it.

The cards would have to be sold at second hand prices anyway once the 3080 has flooded the market. Justified :D

I’m desperate as hell for a card, I don’t work due to personal reasons and have literally nothing to do and I also can’t leave home due to covid, I feel like this is my only option
Do it then really. If people don’t have a card and can’t afford to buy one. What can you do.

If you just need a display card you could get a P620. Even they have gone up! Fine for desktop work can games pre 2015.

Getting my TUF from a competitor today :) Only ordered on Tues.
Meanwhile my TUF from OCUK, from launch day, is nowhere :(

I sold my old 970 recently aswell because I thought I’d have my card within a week or two but it’s been 3 weeks now and can’t see it being anytime soon, I’ve just shot it on a credit card anyway I’ll refund asoon as my 3080 arrives from Overclockers

all these people complaining about how they've received no communication after receiving their queue number and i’m out here and not even received my confirmation email LET ALONE my queue number - OCUK really do be making me not wanna purchase with them again, i was originally going to purchase elsewhere but thought OC were more reliable...unfortunate

You should have had an email after a few hours of ordering it.

Okay so I understand that people who buy somewhere else they’re basically sniping those cards but I’m just curious how much are you guys paying for them as on the only other site I could actually see the price on was £50 more expensive than the one sold here, and it is still £100 more then FE, so curious how far are you willing to go to get the card sooner?

It's cause that competitor didn't do pre order and queues. They let people know a day and mentioned the exact time it's going live in advance that they are getting some stock the next day and told them exactly what time it's gonna go live in advance. The order was limited to 1 per customer (or address). Additionally they there was a cart reservation system for when people put the item in cart, so if someone managed to get one in cart then it was reserved for 10 minutes, and that prevented overselling. Basically it was sold the way it should've been sold since day 1 at every retailer. They did sell it for a higher price though.

It's really strange how not even Nvidia does cart reservation, websites had this figured out 10 years ago.

Only if AMD do well :)
Samsung seem to have great probs producing the quantaties needed, AMD's TSMC much better.

People keep making wild statements on here without ever adding links to back them up with evidence. Where is even the slightest evidence to support what you say? Remember Ampere is NOT a GPU, it is a generic technology used in several of Nvidias products, and you only need look on here to see the top Quadro card selling for nearly £7K Other cards using this technology sell for big money, incentivising Nvidia to maximise profit. That is probably where the problems lie, because I haven't seen a single report Samsung is having difficulty producing required GPU chips.

I don't want to burst any bubbles, but the codes ran out on the first day, they only had 1000. If you ordered past the first hour or so, your chances of getting a code are zero unless they give OCUK more.
I ordered at 9.50pm (site issues forced me to order elsewhere initially but alas... they let me down too!!) but have the code on my order. As far as I’m concerned, if OC fail to back that up, that’s false selling. So long as my card comes in time to redeem, I fully expect that promise to be honoured or suitable recompense to be applied. #liveinhope ;)
