Nobody expects the 5600X to be £200. Not even the 1600X was that cheap. I expect/hope AMD to release a 5600 in a few months time for about £200.
There won't be a non X version as this is its replacement, they have just tagged an X on the end so the price rise doesn't look as steep similar to how the 2700 replacement was the 3700X. It has the same TDP the same cooler as the 3600.

Intel were charging big premium just because they were faster at gaming.
So now AMD are faster at absolutely everything a £50 bump is unacceptable
Don't forget the 3000s still exists and still offers good bang for buck. Especially when they start dropping in price.

And if intel are still better in gaming?

Except they too have been rising in price. And they will probably keep rising now the 5000 series has pushed the prices across the stack upwards. As well as not replaced the best value SKUs.

3000 series esp the 3600 and 3700X will probably go up a bit more.

If you believe that then maybe stop whinging and buy one.

AMD innovate want a measly 50 uplift and people kick off.
It's more than that as many are disappointed that they have launched with only the top tier SKUs which means the current entry level for 6C and 8C is $100-$150 more than with the Zen 2 release. Plus there is no H/S with the 5800X, so for those on a budget that weren’t planning to O/C that’s another expense. So the total difference is much more than the $50 you suggested.

3600 v 5600X = $199 v $299 = $100 ~50% increase.
3700X v 5800X = $329 v $479 ($449 + $30 for H/S) = $150 ~46% increase.

It doesn’t make them bad value versus Intel, but they are noticeably worse value than Zen 2 at the point of release. I use dollars to avoid currency conversion.
Some people have a limited budget so an extra $100-150 can be very significant and be the difference between purchasing or not. If you have waited 6 months then of course you may be disappointed if you can’t afford it.
The street price difference on the day of release versus Zen 2 should be noticeably larger as Zen 2 prices are less than release prices.

Personally I think the price is okay for what it is. AMD needed to stop selling new gen chips fully unlocked for bargain prices (cheaper SKUs) which impacted the prices of previous gen chips and limited how many top bin 6C and 8C chips they could sell.
Intel don’t do that because they lock all bar the K series, so they can create a range of chips where the pricing made sense.

It's always been the same with desirable tech. How much was the 9900k? Wasn't it £500+ at one point??

The new Ryzens will fly off the shelves.

They can still buy a 3700x or 3600....or Intel....

No I didn’t ....
Yes you have... see below.
To be fair you did say "noobs with no money" in one of your earlier posts, still derogatory towards those on a budget
Yup.

But here is another...

Well I have the funds so I’m hoping the 3900x is faster in games...so stop being selfish just because you’re poor :p
He has form for this.

He may think it's just "harmless fun" but it's very tasteless.

That’s a Quote taken out of context...anyone can do that...you have already ninja edited my posts to suit your own agenda...anyone can play at that game...

Why can't we just all get along? :)

No I didn’t...

Nope...I said this...
Only the noobs with no money...If you are the fastest premium product your prices reflect that. I have no issue paying a £50 uplift over what I paid for a 3900x on release for a 5900x
See above. Do you forget what you've written?

I don't think many care what the flagship 5950X is priced at as it could be £1000 and very few here would care, its the lower SKUs like the 5600X and 5800X which people are not so happy about as they have seen a significant rise over what was available last time around which works out at a huge 50% increase in the more budget orinetated budget 6 core segment.

He plays that game frequently. The trouble is he can’t remember what he’s said most of the time.

Quashed his argument about the price of motherboards which he conveniently decided to leave out and not address...but then trawls through the internet to find a quote about a 3900x and then ninja edit that to flip its context...
