*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3090 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

whoops! asked to have my name cleared off the cancellation google form so that i could use it if need be, but they cancelled my 3090 oc strix order instead, i was position 14, that puts you all one step closer, good luck!

I managed to bag a 3090 FE but just canceled it as only 19 in queue for Strix OC and really want that card so going to hold out. Got caught up in the moment there!

I was in a similar frame of mind as you but the significantly cheaper price for the FE and the fact I need it more for work so will not be fussed about overclocking it I thought I would stick with the FE and be thankful I managed to bag one. It was always my second choice afetr the Asus so am pretty happy with it.

They haven't given me one. They are going to email me in the next few days. Its very frustrating that all of the UK PC component suppliers are absolutely crap.

Same here, can you report back what happens if you don’t mind.

So, I found after e-mailing Overclockers.. they can't do anything because 'my order did not qualify as stock was exhausted before your order was placed'. This makes sense because if OcUK only had 1000 codes, they gave them ALL to the 3080 pre-orders on the 17th Sept.

I also e-mailed ASUS Support whom said they aren't directly dealing with their promotion, the same goes for the ASUS_ROGUK twitter page. They both however referred me to this page on their forums; https://rog.asus.com/forum/sendmessage.php and stated that the site administrators are dealing with this directly.

Their site is extremely buggy too, I kept getting errors when trying to hit 'Send' stating 'Access is Denied' etc - By the time these issues are figured out the promotion will be closed and I'll be **** outa luck :D

Just playing the waiting game in hearing back from them now, other than that - I've found that even though the promotion is a world-wide promotion. The method of submitting your Serial Number, PPID and other details are restricted to a small handful of countries that doesn't include the UK or the EU or even the States for that matter.

I can't see why not considering we can verify our purchases, if they're still giving out codes providing the promotion is still active - we should be able to get one.

Will continue to update here on where things go.

Am sitting tight for Strix OC as already ordered the water block for it so I cannot just drop and try obtain elsewhere and am sure it will be same anywhere else. Getting tired with reading the post of one saying that other place got lot more than others. Actually I ordered here knowing that Strix won't be out until 5th Oct also they are making the cards for worldwide not UK only and there are 7 billions people, how do we expect that we will get 1000 cards on day one. am sure more is on way, just like one post saying maybe last week one place get more than other then this week it's other way round. At least it's start to coming and am sure lot more is on way, OcUK can only share what they know and it's lot better than giving assumptions. Aware some like to be updated regularly no matter if nothing changed while others like to just update when it did change like myself.

Keep Calm & Card will Land

Good point, but he could have needed it for a future RMA

Impatient? it's a simple flap release, his fumbling about took longer than doing it properly, it's not a Rubiks cube :p so at some point yea, you have to question his logic

For real, only way that kind behaviour makes any sense is if it’s a joke video, it’s like he’s never opened a box of anything in his life, like it’s an alien concept. “What? It folds open? What does fold mean?” :D

As for a few tears, he flipping well deformed the box, if he had to RMA the card the guys dealing with it would look at the box and think this guy probably broke it himself and think long and hard about replacing it free of charge.

Cheers.

I could care less about how he handles the packaging for his own card. I just have a problem with people being incredibly judgemental and saying groups of people with perceived inferior intelligence shouldn't be allowed GPUs, that's a **** thing to say. Enough said.

just wait for his video of him on Christmas morning :D

Well knock me over with a sausage. I ordered an FE earlier from the other place and it has been dispatched, I didn't even want one. I was on nights last night and only had 3 hours sleep this morning but when I saw it come up I though I would chance my arm and never expected it to be sent. I wanted a 3080 and after placing and cancelling 2 orders due to lack of stock I think it was just a rush of blood to the head. Oh well I will see if it arrives tomorrow and then decide what to do with it. Before anyone asks no it is not going on ebay, I am not that sort of bloke. I would sell it on here.

So you COULD care less...so you care abit?
Could care less is a stupid Americanism.
It’s COULDN’T care less as in I care so little that I couldn’t care a smaller amount.
I COULD care less means I actually care a fair bit so I could care less about it than I do.
Always irritates me that does.
I’m also with @WhiteHawk77
people who would unbox with gloves on and be over safe and cherish the whole experience including unboxing are waiting for these cards.
He opens it like an animal and risk’s a commodity a very small risk granted but still a risk.
People are desperate for these cards and he’s like “look I have it and I don’t even give a ****”.
It’s kind of disrespectful to the people still waiting in my opinion.
On the whole low IQ thing if he can’t open a box how is he going to fit the card? I hope he asks someone else rather than risk breaking a (at the moment) unicorn rare commodity.
I’m not saying someone with low IQ shouldn’t be allowed a GPU or use a GPU but I think some brains are required to fit it not many but more than opening a box.

I could care less what you think of the Americanism :) As I said before, he made four tears into a piece of cardboard. The GPU is intact. He literally fits the card in the case. There ya go.

I've been wanting a 3090 since release, but I'm still not willing to pre-order. I have to see a retailer selling with both genuine stock and a decent price. Specifically I want the MSI 3090 Gaming Trio X, but the price range seems to go from £1,599 up to £1,689. So is a custom card/fan is worth +£190 above the base FE edition? No, it's not.

I remember the stock availability (or lack thereof) back in 2016 for the 10xx series - people have very short memories, it seems. It's worse this time around, but the 10 series release wasn't a clean one either. I just can't go through the waiting pain again, especially given the shortage on all outlets everywhere.

I won't be buying until we see the market settle, and I see what AMD can release.

Same boat. I've always been the same with computer hardware, aside from a couple of things where there was no choice as they didn't retail.

Price not so much, but i just want to walk in and buy one.

That's it in a nutshell for me - the price is ok, but it has to be something I can actually buy today. I can't be bothered with queuing for anything.

I will give AMD a chance to see if they can compete this time.

I ordered a fe today, arriving tomorrow. But I'm still undecided.
I originally wanted a strix or something I could flash the strix bios onto.
At the same time I really like the look of the founders, and think it will look good with a block.
Blocks not available for the fe yet. Only pre order. So I have time.
I'm just not sure if silicon lottery maybe more of a factor than the extra 80w.
Also, any word of a higher pl bios for the fe?
