Excellent video from adoredtv on Nvidia Ampere and reviewers

It isnt, it doesnt use the titan drivers, and as a consequence its not a titan class card, when it comes to non gaming workloads, the titan drivers remove some of the artificial performance caps present on the geforce drivers, when you have reviewers calling it a titan in all but name that is misleading. Your post only proves his point, you have fell for misleading advertising (yes most of the big reviews are advertising).

It is a card in no mans land, it has a very small performance gain over the 3080 for gaming, unlike most titans who have a reasonable performance boost, and at the same time it doesnt have the non gaming benefits titan's normally has. Its only tangible benefit is if you somehow need more than 10 gig of vram, and the fact its the fastest card out there, for those who want that honour. I got no issue with people choosing to buy the card, if they want the fastest and they have the money that is their business, my issue has always been with bad reviews/advertising.

His basic point is you have misleading advertising proxied by reviewers, they do it so often, that he is questioning if its deliberate (a very valid point), and then there is a bunch of people just soaking it all up and eve to the point they spend time on the internet defending these companies as if they owe them some kind of blind loyalty. I agree with his points although as evidenced here people dont like it when someone goes against the tide, and he is been seen as some kind of ranter.

Also remember nvidia are advertising this for gaming, and gamersnexus as such reviewed it that way, they then proceeded to tell linus they consider it a card for encoders, to try and make his review come out better. Hence me saying it is in no mans land, even nvidia dont know where to place the product.

Which raises the question, how can you disagree with a mob whilst not been seen in that manner?

It's the snide way Jensen deliberately said, in the launch video, "titan class" to give an impression to the non initiated, that this was the ampere Titan card...or equivalent. Deliberately ambiguous, to leave the "titan" thought in the viewers mind.

EDIT: In fact I saved that infamous Ryzen 3000 info chart leak so it would never be forgotten, here it is in all its glory, only 99.9% of it was wrong....

You saved it so it would never be forgotten:rolleyes: What age are you? So what if he got it wrong, plenty of sources get stuff wrong...do you save wfftech charts too? So they would "never be forgotten"

Agreed. It was clever, ambiguous but not enough to get him in hot water. Technically, he's correct as the 3090 performs the fastest OOTB, but lacks the actual application to be a titan.

Whatever card comes out between the 3080 and the 3090 will devalue the 3090 and I do expect them to pull the cards at some point as demand dries up.

Yep same, the Ryzen 3000 5Ghz, $150 6-cores, Black Edition etc fake chart 'leak' he lived off for about 6 months was unforgiveable and I stopped watching, he clearly has no idea how CPUs work, some of his claims in that video and chart was insulting to my intelligence, like claiming the BASE CLOCK of one of the Ryzen 3000 SKUs would be 4.3Ghz. Base clock. I called him out for this as a red herring and I got some abuse back on Twitter lol!

He's even got his own defence force of AMD fans, who don't realise he does more harm than good. He can do one.

Careful you might get death threats from him with a chart like that chuchuchu

And this is exactly what I'm referring to. They werent just calling him out for that, they also called him out for not using a 3080 it's all there, at the start of this video that I 'clearly missed'. You're focusing on one point and decided Jim was spot on with what he said. No. He wasn't. He was right about the 3090 not being a Titan but that wasn't all he said. Please, don't tell me im the one missing key points here. Did you watch the previous video? I did. It might give you some context.

Maybe you are one of the 10% that watched the video though so was not talking about you in the first place. None of my posts were aimed at you by the looks of it but for some reason you think they were.

Although it's not a Titan card it could provide some sort of Titan workload if Nvidia released drivers for it. However, do to segmentation purposed they openly inform you, the consumer, that they will not do such a thing.

Although I cannot understand why they wouldn't do that. At a guess they might expect you to pay more for their "Ampere Titan". In which to be honest I don't see how much more performance one can get with Ampere.

The Quadro's due soon are the pro cards (48gb 7nm and lower power consumption etc)

The Titans were always a halfway house between GeForce and Quadro's. Prosumer cards. 3090 is just a stupidly expensive GeForce that won't handle professional workloads and Quadro's are awful at playing games.

Well if Nvidia doesn't cater for prosumers anymore then it's up to amd otherwise intel will jump in very soon

AMD's cards are on divergent paths it looks like, they have RDNA & CDNA; Intel stuff looks interesting for sure.

People (not me...) mock his accent because it's easy, i guess. Same as the do with Red Gaming Tech. I'd rather just listen to what they say than how they sound saying it, but that's me.

find it hard to believe that some cant understand him , but i suppose that's up to the individual.

I like it (his accent), its aggressive and to the point! However many of these Tubers need to shorten the videos, also RGT needs to have some new background footage. :D

Same here, never had an issue with Jim’s accent. I understand very clearly everything he says. The problem with Red Gaming Tech dude is not his accent but the fashion he delivers his lines. Just sounds emotionless and a little boring. Hardly watch either of their videos, there is usually someone kind of to condense what is said in those 30 minutes videos into a 1-2 minute read here :p

I generally look up review stuff on techpowerup, their database service is top notch.. its funny when YouTube reviewers show techpowerup data for validation purposes...

But leakers on the other hand are best understood on YouTube, leaks make more sense with all those qualifying adjectives and accentuations

Why don't you just use 2x speed? Or slightly lower for those tubers who speak fast.

Unless the topic is complicated or I'm playing games, I watch a lot of videos at a faster speed. If only ads would also obey the speed up and play faster that would be great.
