*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

why are our cards still in HK?????? no reason and everyone seems fine, we were supposed to be getting our cards this week after now well over a month of waiting since launch. Id get it if this was a game or maybe even possibly an item of clothing, but this is an item worth just under 1k and i have nothing to show after all this time, ******.

Can someone explain what is meant by binning? i keep seeing this pop up.

The simple thing is Asus will get a GPU, test it at OC clocks and it passes it becomes an OC SKU, it fails it becomes none OC SKU. Simple as that.
However be assured they are producing none OC models, as stated in a previous thread we are still getting deliveries of none OC they are just small batches.

@Gibbo has Nvidia considered the option of supplying it's partners with FE cards to help reduce the queue for those who ordered at launch? Would make more sense than the ridiculous random drops they do. Yes, they would lose some profits to the retailers, but that's the least they could offer.

We asked, the problem is OcUK sold 5000+ cards pretty much within the first hour of launch, so the promo had ended literally within minutes and the fact is NVIDIA only probably have a small handful of spare codes as they sent us 1000 initially but as we sold thousands within minutes the promo was over before it started, plus the fact the redemption period I also believe ends very soon.
Hi Gibbo, thanks for the updates.
In my order confirmed email it has a line saying £0.00 x 1 - FREE WITH GX-1BU-GI: NVIDIA RTX Bundle Promotion - Watchdogs Legion & GeForce NOW - does that mean I will receive a free code? Or was this just sent out to everyone who ordered a card and it was first come/first serve based on shipping after that point?
Thanks very much

THe manufacturer will not ship one carton, otherwise the air freight cost which they cover results they lose money, so they bulk a few cartons together and ship and when they do this the delay it causes it is days, not weeks or months. THey are a business and they operate on tight margins, shipping one carton on express air freight would result in them losing all their margin and more so, as such they wait a day or two so they can ship more to us.

In fact by them waiting and not sending lots of separate shipments it generally speeds the process up as once it arrives in UK and our end it is logistically much easier to locate and book in. So once UK side there is little to no delay and the board partner was then able to ship product without losing money.

Nope and I think FE cards are shipping in far far smaller volumes......

Makes you feel like you're buying a premium card (Strix for example) which is pretty much one of the most expensive AIB's and they are coupling it with a dud/poorly binned GPU chip (for which there arent very many by the sounds of it)...as from what ive seen most models including the FE, overclock to the same clocks.

I was always under the impression they didnt bin chips and that you were paying for the convenience of the manufacturer OCing for you and that non OC cards would be able to attain the same clocks....maybe that's my fault.

Really disappointed with Asus.

That is not the question though. I already have the code assigned to my order and have been told I will be getting it, but what good is it if Nvidia cannot provide enough GPU's and I won't get my card until the code expires?

So the question is, can you speak to them about extending this redemption period so customers who have already been assigned a code still get the game. Thanks :)

Zotac are preparing a shipment end of this week, once they inform me what they are sending I shall let you guys know. Zotac have a huge open PO with us so some stock arrives without notification as its just how they work with ourselves with us being a direct customer with them so they simply let stock build up to several cartons and then ship them all at once because for obvious reason they do not just ship one carton from Hong Kong otherwise the air freight becomes quite expensive for them.

Thanks for that, like iv stated before, we had no news of even the zotacs being produced. So anything like this is great to hear.

How long does it take to cancel down an order? I was wanting to place another for a less desirable card brand, but system won't let me as it sees an order already there! Filled out the google cancel form yesterday, but wondering how long this will take.

@Gibbo have a word with inno3d and get them to send in all the stock for their cards pre orders at once, the queues for inno3d aren't massive so should be able to do it relatively quickly! 79th in queue for the x3 lol!
