*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Whats to stop you getting the code and cancelling your order?
the lack of card which you need to claim for a start but yep. They're not going to give out anything whilst there's a good chance you will cancel :p

There is the chance (its actually better than the chance of you receiving card from here) you could snag a card elsewhere before the promo ends and not get a code so just use the one from here. OC aren't going to chance that ;)

Yeah but they will be useless anyway, after the promo expires.
Exactly. Just seems scummy to me. Either extend the redemption period (easily done) or send it out before it expires. Letting it expire and saying sorry, it is what it is... is poor.

No. You need a 3080 actually installed in your system for the game/code to be activated
Can get someone else to activate it for your or sell it on. Better than letting it expire... Hell, one may have got a 3080 from elsewhere where the code was not given due to only very few being given out on release.

None of this should be an issue anyway, simply extend the redemption period for 6 months, problem solved. There is only so many codes, new one are not given out, so what difference does it make other than to pee off your customers?

Just submitted my order cancellation. Not blaming OcUK for anything here but this whole NVIDIA sh*tshow is hilarious. Might get a 3070 or one of the AMD cards if the same thing doesn’t happen. If you’re in the queue for a Gaming Trio and above position 920(ish) then good news, you’re one spot closer to getting your card.

How long does it take to cancel down an order? I was wanting to place another for a less desirable card brand, but system won't let me as it sees an order already there! Filled out the google cancel form yesterday, but wondering how long this will take.
My order was cancelled in 2 working days. The time it takes for you to get your money back depends on what payment method you used, my credit card showed the refund 4 days later for example.

Did the same for the MSI card, any idea how long it takes to cancel? I wanted to try ordering one of the less popular ones but system won't let me until this one is cancelled.

keep an eye on competitors and dont lose hope. There's more and more cropping up elsewhere where they will give you pretty accurate delivery expectations :)

I sent a webnote requesting cancellation at 6am yesterday and it was done by like 11:30 :D

Less desireable brand? Seems like Inno are going to be pretty much your only option, but even though it's little known in the UK, it's highly regarded in the far East, and India. The reviews appear to be pretty good, and there's little if any performance difference between the X3 & X4 cards little price difference too. Might be an idea to check with OCUK CS if you can move queues instead of cancelling and reordering ?

Perhaps what we all need to do is order them off a certain auction site from the scalpers. Get the card and code, redeem the code and then return the cards...

We asked, the problem is OcUK sold 5000+ cards pretty much within the first hour of launch, so the promo had ended literally within minutes and the fact is NVIDIA only probably have a small handful of spare codes as they sent us 1000 initially but as we sold thousands within minutes the promo was over before it started, plus the fact the redemption period I also believe ends very soon.

The question wasn't for more keys. It was for the deadline for claiming said key to be extended. I ordered within the first 1000 (ordered @ 14:33). At least going off the information available from order numbers of those that ordered at 14:00 exactly. I'm currently 61 in the Strix OC queue. I had held hope until yesterdays post that this was still possible as an other EU supplier had reported getting 80 scheduled for mid this week. So its slightly disappointing that OC is only getting a small amount. I mean I still have hope that maybe the other distro receives some stock this week also allocated to OC but who knows.

However, as this arbitrary deadline from Nvidia/Ubisoft approaches you have yet to ship 1.000 3080s. So I suspect a lot of theses codes will become invalid and simply go to waste. Ideally I would like the deadline to be extended. Its clearly as everyone has stated that it is not a demand issue but supply as NVIDIA wouldn't give 1000 codes if it didn't expect the volume. If not extended then I believe it should be sent separately of the card and people to be allowed to claim and register as a good will gesture by Nvidia so people don't lose out
