*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Less desireable brand? Seems like Inno are going to be pretty much your only option, but even though it's little known in the UK, it's highly regarded in the far East, and India. The reviews appear to be pretty good, and there's little if any performance difference between the X3 & X4 cards little price difference too. Might be an idea to check with OCUK CS if you can move queues instead of cancelling and reordering ?

I was thinking Palit, will they be no different? OC said no moving just to cancel and reorder :(

Whats mad is that Asus are binning chips on an already expensive model.....I can understand people paying the extra £30-£40 for a Bios that has the OC in place, but waiting for dud Chips, so you can offer a product that is more expensive than the FE is ridiculous....even more so when these duds arent coming in, so you dont bother making any!

The mad thing is that i guarantee you that all the great reviews of the Asus Tuf non-oc were done on a non-binned cards. I think it was Gamers Nexus basically saying that the Asus Tuf is the same as the Asus Tuf OC. I ordered a Asus Tuf thanks to that review. Now i feel like that not only do i have to wait 3 months longer, i also will get a **** card in comparison for some bucks less... I'm just glad that i ordered literally every OC version of every card on multiple sites weeks ago after reading about those non-oc rumours for the first time. May save me some months.

I've just spoken to customer service and apparently if you have an order for the 3080, you cannot order a 3070 as well.
You will need to cancel the 3080 order first. I asked this question yesterday on the forum, so here is the official response @robfosters

Zotac are preparing a shipment end of this week, once they inform me what they are sending I shall let you guys know. Zotac have a huge open PO with us so some stock arrives without notification as its just how they work with ourselves with us being a direct customer with them so they simply let stock build up to several cartons and then ship them all at once because for obvious reason they do not just ship one carton from Hong Kong otherwise the air freight becomes quite expensive for them.

@Gibbo does this include the Amp Extreme 3080s?

I placed my order over a month ago and have not had any official correspondence from OCUK as to when it will arrive.

That’s a strange policy. I’d understand if it was another 3080, but not another series entirely. You could be buying it for your kids or something.

We asked, the problem is OcUK sold 5000+ cards pretty much within the first hour of launch, so the promo had ended literally within minutes and the fact is NVIDIA only probably have a small handful of spare codes as they sent us 1000 initially but as we sold thousands within minutes the promo was over before it started, plus the fact the redemption period I also believe ends very soon.
I'd like to ask you a question.
My ASUS TUF OC I'm in top 10 in queue right now.
I asked CS about my code for Geforce now and Watch dogs weeks ago.

I was told the codes have already been allocated to my order and I will definitely get them. Can you confirm this is the way you have been doing it? Allocating the codes to people's orders. So no matter when my cards ships, even if it's after others who ordered after me, but on different models those codes won't be used on other people. Again I was told and have the email that the codes where already allocated to my order. So I hope you guys don't go back on this or use it for something else.

The end date for redemption for watchdogs legion is 30th November. The Geforce now code (I'm a Geforce now user) Nvidia replied in a email to me the code for GFN Nvidia will stick by no matter when you get the code.

So I hope you will still give these codes to people after the date. Also incase Ubisoft extend the use by date. Which we should all be asking for.

Yikes; looking at Gibbo's posts, it appears as though most of us aren't going to see this elusive beast until 2021 (probably includes MSI if the inbound stock doesn't stay at the levels they claim to have just shipped to OCUK).

Got to say that this is probably going be the longest period of time that I have allowed a company to hold on to my money without my receiving a product... I must have more patience than I thought.

Well I kind of get it based on the limited stock...Just means I'll go to the competitor instead. Whatever comes first I'll cancel the other. I would prefer the 3080, but a 3070 is still a good upgrade for me coming from a 960

I seem to remember @PrincessFrosty asking them same thing a while back, so here is the answer.

I just read Gibbos update on the non OC Tuf cards. Could things get any worse for those that have ordered the non OC Tuf cards?! What a complete joke of a launch. I know it's not OcUKs fault but it's a complete farse of a launch and I feel embarrassed for all parties involved.

I will be cancelling. Peace out.

I've cancelled my order for a ASUS TUF NON OC which I gather wouldn't have appeared on my doorstep till some time next year - what would be a good GPU to tide me over for a year or so? Planning on playing Cyberpunk of course and the build was based around playing at 1440p. 2070 Super? No offence to OCUK as I know they aren't in the best situation (not that they've handled it particularly well either) but I plan on buying it somewhere I can click 'buy' and actually get it.

If coming from China, 20-30 days by boat. Under week door to door by air.

Under 'normal' circumstances that is true.

Right now though there is a lot of competition and queuing for air freight slots due to the greatly reduced number of passenger flights, and also I've seen reports of Apple outbidding everyone to secure a large percentage of the air freight capacity out of China, so that isn't helping either.

I'm using a 2070 super right now at 1440p right now and it does well. Currently playing Death Stranding maxed out with DLSS enabled and 100+ FPS all the time.. or see what AMD is offering tomorrow.

Crazy that "stock is so limited" but Nvidia already on way to making a 3080 super. Closer to a 3090 in cores than a 3080. Likely 12GB of GDDR6X too I bet.

https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-preparing-geforce-rtx-3080-ti-with-9984-cuda-cores

Probably Nvidia has been limiting giving the chips to AIBs so they can make the 3070 super/ti basically very close to a 3080 but cheaper, and a 3080 super/ti cleaner than a 3090 but very close in cores. And obviously cheaper than a 3090.

The 3070 super/to will likely be around the price of what AMD are doing to make sure Nvidia beats AMD coz right now if AMD release a card that is on par with 3080 AND PRICED at 3070 this is how Nvidia fixes the issue. I think this is why AIBs not getting chips. They have been drip feeding them and holding onto all G6X so they can't make them. In case they need to react to AMD so they don't loose to much money in what AMD brings. Kind of makes sense

Worried about AMD ??

If you disable raytracing a 2070 super will be more than fine, especially @ 1440p, I own one running @ 3440x1440p, I've only ordered a 3080 to take advantage of my 4k oled @ 120hz, if I didn't own that I'd stick the 2070 another year.

This is exactly what it seems like and yes, they seem to be very worried about AMD. I honestly hope AMD do a very good job. I am/was an Nvidia fan boy but I’d like nothing more than to cancel my order and go AMD if they are good enough and come in a decent price.

Yeah I've never had brand loyalty. But I do prefer Nvidia right now because of DLSS, Raytracing, RTX software, Geforce now. I own 3 Nvidia shields 2019 pros. And Geforce experience. And drivers software much better. I use CUDA for work projects to a lot. So would be hard for me to switch.
