*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Can't always use wired. I have always used wired last 10 years. But recently moved in February to a much larger house. And untill I can run cat6e outside around the house and up to the gaming room. WiFi has to do.

Why would you want to run a network cable outside your house ?
Wired is always possible of course if you have the skills

Seen that as well. Annoying thing is I actually have the funds, but I’m a Yorkshireman and I’m a tight Yorkshireman. Just cannot bring myself to spend nearly twice the cost of my ordered 3080 for about a 10-15% increase in performance. So I will have to wait.
Same situation for me. I can more than afford it but like you said it is justifying spending double on the little performance increase. There is the extra video ram of course but isn't that overkill for most games even in 4k on max settings?

Definitely overkill for now, but will it be overkill in a few year's time?
Comes down to whether the increased bus and RAM speed means the extra size isn't needed, maybe.

Yeah but by that time won't prices go down and there will be a 3080 ti with more RAM probably.
Sure, but do you really want to be shelling out for a card now, have it lose half its value in two years, and then have to upgrade to something that's functionally the same but just with more RAM?
Sounds like a waste of cash.

Yeah good point. Would be nice for the card to be future proof.

That depends on how you view things. To me, why spend twice the money on a card now, when in a few years you could replace it with a new card for a similar amount of money as the 3080, which will probably be better than the current 3090. You can also sell the current 3080, which would save you money.

I have 2 pre orders going. I'm thinking of just canceling both and getting the 3090

I wonder if the next batch of Twin X2 OC 3080 has been planned for delivery to OCUK because 20pcs for the very first shipment of a card that we have been waiting for over a month is absolutely stupid.

I understand the priority for stock is leaning more towards Asia and the stock to Europe has to be distributed towards tons of retailers but 20pcs? Are you joking me?

Very disappointed with the way OCUK handled this and clearly some shady business practices are going on behind the scenes here.

Looks like I won’t be seeing my card until 2021 despite me ordering on the day of release.

Shocking is an understatement.

Anyone has any recommendations for me to grab a 3080 this November please do let me know via PM or replying to this message

Thank GOD I cancelled my Strix 3080 non OC, despite I was 7th in the queue, after two days I managed to get MSI Gaming X Trio almost same price from a competitor.

For those worried u wont get your card in time for Cyberpunk 2077, it has just been DELAYED AGAIN lol.... not joking...

Lol I have the skills mate. I'm a telecoms engineer. Worked for Telewest and NTL Kelly's Comms and Enterprise Plc) for 10 years and BT Openreach after that and now I do data cabling and fibre splicing. So I know what I'm doing. If you knew my home, for the gaming room the quick faster option would be to run it outside. I just haven't had time with covid and moving over last few months. My plan is to fully network the house each room in future when things are better. Right now the WiFi is great. Untill I can patch panel and network switch the whole house. It will do ;)
My comment about the wifi was just that I was impressed by the one I got. And honestly because it was so good I just haven't had the need to rush to do the whole house. I'll get around to it though. Cheers.

It's not retailers fault the manufacturer didn't make them.
Try thinking with some logic applied
Wut are you talking about? You should try.thinking with some logic bro. Retailers are talking to suppliers every day. If cards are not produced retailer should make stock obsolete and certainly not keep selling it. This is the last thing I ordered from OC UK, I promise you. Is that logical enough for ya.

No he's saying you made your choice of card and you have to live with it
Why should you get to push in front of anyone else in any other queue ?
Join the back of whatever queue you wish or wait for the card you ordered originally
Other people could swap queues and push in front of others and it was not a problem. People from non moving queues should be given more clarity and choice to pick different card but with zero communication from OCUK it is not gonna happen so you can be calm. What a mess. Epic mess.
