*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

@Gibbo would it be possible if more TUF OC are ready to ship tomorrow that a quick phone call could be made to see if we'd want to upgrade to Saturday delivery could be made before they dispatch? I'm hoping at 51 in the queue I'm close and I'd hate to miss out on getting it Saturday just for a few extra £. Or should I call OCUK today?

If you get a dispatch email today, the DPD site should let you upgrade the delivery this evening.

Moore's law is dead has states nvidia are holding back chips as they're going to completely revamp their line up for this generation of cards. I wonder what that means lots of people saying 3080ti probably coming in around the 1k to tackle AMD but how would those people who bought the 3080 feel if they scrap and replace for something better at the same price point. Kind of glad I'm 900th in the queue and not expecting a card this year.

There is always something new coming,
irony being that the user "moores law" would say that because you could be waiting for ever to have the latest highest spec gpu,

so in reality im fine with it, no matter what i buy now will be out of date in 6 to 12 months,

If that’s true then it certainly isn’t going to be anytime soon I wouldn’t think. Amds offerings are pretty good this time. Nothing available until at least the 8th dec on the top card but it’s certainly at the right price.
If I was nvidia then I’d be more likely to reduce the price of the 3090 to compete but whilst there still selling like hot cakes they aren’t going to do anything. I expect a lot of people would be extremely frustrated if they went for the current cards only to find they missed out on something better a couple of months later.
Imagine the admin here if that happened. All those refunds and re-orders lmao
The fact is things are always moving so whatever you buy there will always be something better on the way :)

I ordered an Inno3D Twin X2 OC 3080 a few hours after release date, my queue position was 33 originally, OverclockersUK did not recieve a single shipment of this card until recently , and when they did it was an embarrassing 20pcs.

I am currently 11 in queue and since Inno3D are prioritising stock towards Asia plus any stock in Europe is to be fought across retailers I am in the worse position possible.

Oh also due to OCUK shady business practices and scummy price hitching I could only get the cheapest option card which set me back £680, even if a opportunity did come up for me to purchase a card I would have to refund , lose my place in the queue and even then I won’t be guaranteed to get a card, I’m simply stuck.

Also I’m not in a position to be making multiple orders so I am not in a position to be making one here cancelling one here etc

I am honestly really disappointed and disgusted that it’s been over a month and I still haven’t recieved a card.

if anyone has any recommendations on what to do please message me privately or respond to the thread as I’m lost and need a GPU at the beginning of november

You're lucky! Many of us are waiting on cards for which nothing has materialised at all, however you have made some assumptions. Nothing at all has been shipped into Europe according to Proshop, OCUK are sole UK importer and get their stock direct from Inno, so there's no fighting over what stock there is. There are more cards allegedly due to be arriving but it's not going to happen by the end of this week if it happens at all.

There is a thread for this card on the GPU page which might be able to provide some more information for you. The only real course open to you if you really must have a GPU is to buy used, but prices are inflated because of the mess Nvidia has caused, and they will almost certainly fall back once RTX30xx stock becomes more widely available. In other words you will lose money.

to be honest, they only need to revamp the prices based on the AMD presentation, AMD is definitely competitive in their own benchmarks, and I believe they will be still competitive once they hit real tests. Now ray tracying is still better with ngreedia, as this is already second gen, compared to 1st gen AMD, and AMD still doesn't have a proper DLSS counter but that FidelityCAS if I am not wrong(please correct me, this left me a bit confused). Now a 3080ti is a bit pointless, as they would kill their own customers with 3090, which is such little bit more powerful than 3080. So where is 3080ti will fit in, 1000 dollars for like what 5% performance increase? as 3090 is like 10% faster than 3080? I find it very hard to see where would that fit. Nvidia only needs stock and to lower price a bit to hit against AMD. Anyway looking forward for 6800XT tests, especially on ray tracying

Thanks for posting this. It’s probably the most meaningful update we’ve had from Asus even though it relates to a different country and we need to use a translation engine!

Funny that Asus Sweden bother to have a rep giving useful info on a forum, yet in the UK (surely a bigger market?), Asus can’t be bothered to show up! SMH.
