My CPU is running at 5.1Ghz cooling is Corsair H150i Pro. I am running the 3090 Eagle at stock, haven't touched the fans curve or looked at OCing it yet

They're probably also using the FE 3090, which would be slightly worse. It's going to be impossible to say without a thorough review - once the proper reviewers do their thing, we'll see more accurate figures.

I'd also imagine that the next couple months will see performance figures move around as software gets updated and new features roll out.

For the 3080 and 70 they both state they are using FE but for the 3090 it doesn't say i assumed that might mean they are using an AIB but can't put who for whatever reason.

Yep it will be interesting and to be honest if anyone gets a new card they should be more than happy with it!

but i am not sure that this whole "RIP Nvidia" is valid yet.

Of course it's not, that's just fanboy nonsense... Nvidia aren't just going to pack up their toys and go home. "well that's us done boys, better start designing fridges instead".

Sadly it's probably true that even if AMD clean sweeped everything from rasterisation to ray tracing and all the software guff, Nvidia would probably still outsell them this generation. Mindshare like theirs takes time to erode!

What is definitely true is AMD are back with a bang and I'm really excited for the next few years of fierce competition. I do think they've managed to make the 3090 look rather daft at the price (although I would argue it already managed that all by itself), but obviously we need to see how it compares in the real world before we can say how they actually fare.

I'm really hoping I can snag myself a 6800XT soon!

I laugh even harder when someone can't tell when you're providing an example, not actually stating you're a BGA supplier....
nah son you went in straight with the "facts" and got called out so played the "i'm the source" card and nobody was interested anymore - now play it down like you didnt.

Well Im going to levy the same criticism now at AMD as I did with Nvidia.

Its +2 days following the launch and where is the follow up information? Nvidia launched, then went quiet. Now AMD have done the same. These companies need to stoke the fire a bit, give us more info, drive the hype forward.

I remember that video when it came out the original its really hard not to laugh. Wasnt it a prank on the talkshow host guy?

Its strange isnt it Dan. I normally am so tied up with life, work, kids etc that I rarely see a proper launch and pay attention to it. This time round I have followed both releases and they dont make any sense - I thought these guys were the kings of marketing and would have had years of being able to pull supply chain miracles etc to sail them boxes off the shelf at the whim of a spatula flick..

Nope, don't think I am old bean ;) unless your claiming VESA backward engineered NVIDIA code and removed the hardware portion I'm not sure what you point is?

I didn't say who was first just that AMD Freesync came from VESA standard.

I think what's more likely is that NVIDIA saw the upcoming VESA standard thought, "oooh that I good idea, let make in proprietary by adding GSYNC module so we can monetize it".

https://www.anandtech.com/show/8008...andard-variable-refresh-monitors-move-forward

In fact that exactly what they did, read the above, NVIDIA just did the first proprietary deployment of what VESA (+ others) had been working on for years, they're just slow to add to their standard (no surprise there, its VESA)

I pointed this out in another thread a couple of months back. The same characters tried on the "well awktually...." geek factoid and missed the point just like yours - as they are too focused on defending the company that can do no wrong.

Yeah it is strange. If it was me, I'd be sharing photos of the factories producing the dies, the assembly processes, the packaging, cards piled up ready to move. Pre-orders should be opened up day 1 like Facebook did. Apple's new phone has a pre-order opening date in advance of the launch - and we know they will have made millions. I just don't get how AMD and Nvidia can be so behind.
