So we've seen the Sony engineer take off the PS5 side panels, here's the first YouTube video of an end user doing it. Still gives me the willies that it will snap in half. :D

22:30 onwards

If you look in that video you'll see the 2 round, hollow, lumps on the side panels, which snap into 2 holes at the top/rear on the main body, that's what the 'bend' action disengages. They look to be about 5mm tall so you really won't need to put much pressure on it at all. The first time he tries it he's putting a lot more force than needed hence the panel 'flies' off!

You can se that corner snapping back down when he puts the panel back on.

Can you just leave the side panels off? It seemed to look better when he took them off and stood it vertically. :p

I still cannot get over how big the console actually is, thinking how big the PS4 Pro was compared to the normal model.

Not that it's a bad thing, just I cannot get over the size.

Xbox Series X / S are the only consoles that use the full capabilities of the AMD RDNA 2 architecture

Interesting.

Ye, that's just their marketing stuff. Sony won't be able to use the full DX features that AMD and Microsoft will be implementing for PC. They will however have their own versions of everything.
Sony made the chip in collaboration with AMD so have all the features they need or wanted. Microsoft may have regained a few features more compatible with PCs and Direct X (Xbox uses this) so can claim 'extra' features.

I watched a PS4 Pro teardown the other day and the size of the cooler is something else.

Erm, yeah. About that 'Very Large Heatsink', PS4 Pro... :p

The PS4 Pro is also almost half power supply.

What was in the PS4 Pro that so many said it was like a jet engine. While my PS4 1200c model from, Christmas 2016 is still very quiet to this day. It has never been repasted. That's the thing I find weird. Even with The Last of Us 2 it's so quiet.

Hopefully the PS5 is whisper quiet.

My PS4 pro was relatively quiet for a couple of years, and then loud after, but nothing ike my xbox one x which in the last year was absolutely ridiculously loud.

Hmm, bearings causes fans to spin up more? That would be more of a grinding noise. Everyone I've heard complain about the Pro was the amount and duration the fans spool up. Not grinding.

As well as high fps in the menus.

fans don't spin faster due to bearing issues, spinning faster is because the Operating system tells it to spin faster which it only does when the system exceeds normal temperature - so probably dust blocking air vents

How about those that had loud PS4 Pro new out of the box? There were a lot. Can't be dust.

My PS4 pro is like that, problem with the fan itself - later model they used a different fan - the fan on the first model of PS4 pro made a high pitch whine sound at high rpm

Wonder how the lockdown will affect the UK launch in a few weeks? I’ve got one pre ordered with game, does click and collect still work :p
Someone else's quote but looks like it:

Non-essential retail can remain open for delivery to customers and click-and-collect.

Ultimately the shops could just decide to furlough their staff as they'll get more monies this way. So even though they can offer the service, they may just shut.
