I'm getting serious FOMO because I don't have an OLED. I have a decent tv for gaming (KS7000) but there is that constant nagging thing going on whenever I see OLED mentioned or the Q90 tvs.
I only got the current TV as I wanted to use HDR and 4k for the PS4 Pro.
I upgraded my TV at the end of July, specifically for the PS5 launch. I got lucky with a nice annual bonus which paid for it. Finally ditched my 11 year old 42" plasma. HDR is a nice thing to have. I haven't seen a game running at 4K yet except streamed so I'm pretty excited for this launch - I skipped the PS4 Pro (not then having a 4K TV didn't seem worth it).

Just had my email from Smyths confirming my PS5 order is prepped for day 1 :D. No word on the opening hours of the store as yet but my local store doesn't normally open till 9am...

Is it the CX model that is the one to get? Their model numbers confuse me. I wasn't fussed about 4K either until the Pro was announced, I made more use of it for films though than the console.

The CX is this years model yes :). For some reason they opted to call it the X rather than the C10 but that is basically what it is. I own the 55" C7 and it still blows me away. Can only envisage what the improvements have done as well as HDMI 2.1 120hz refresh would be like.

CX is this years model, yes. It's a C10 really, launched after the C9. I was going to go for the cheaper C9 but thought what the hell and went for the latest one.

edit - what @Shawreyboy said :)

Ah yes I see it, I think the 65 is too much for me (and possibly issue size wise) but 55 would be a good compromise as my current is 49.

I'm guessing it's because of X being ten in roman numerals. I think I'm going to keep an eye on the price and jump when it gets a little discount.

I definitely can see some offers coming out around black Friday. The 55" has dropped to what the C9 was in July (£1,399). That's £400 less than I paid for it. 65" was too large for where I sit. 55" is perfect for me.

Yeah I just measured and the 65 would fit but I don't think I need that size for how close I sit. If I get the TV it will be in lieu of my PC.

Yeah I start my new job tomorrow and I remember how I felt after my last job, I was at adesk quite a lot and had no desire to go to my PC desk after work.

I really like Forza H, closest thing was Test Drive Unlimited but not been one for ages. GT is too 'serious?' for me, I prefer more arcade style but it may come with options to tailor how you want it. GT3 was ruined for me once the races introduced tyre wear.

Not sure whether to keep my PS5 pre-order or cancel it.

I ordered it with Amazon but not 100% sure if I'll use it enough or not, but if I don't get I probably won't be able to get one right?

Press Start, advised Amazon have sent emails to people warning there pre order may not arrive this year due to Sony not giving them amount of stock promised

I've not had anything from Amazon myself yet

"UPDATE: Since publishing this article, we have learnt that this email has been sent to multiple Australians by an unauthorized person who appear to be posing as Amazon. We have have reached out to Amazon to confirm its validity and will provide an update when we have one.'
