*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3090 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Hi! Just cancelled my Strix OC order. Was no. 100. Have had an FE in my build for two weeks and it seems fine for my needs. Good luck to all in all queues

I had a 3090 ventus arrive from somewhere else whilst I'm still waiting for a card from ocuk to be in stock as I want a card with 3power connectors to push the overclocks.
It's fine it just doesn't overclock particularly well (the bios it comes with prevents increasing power so I get to about 1870Mhz and +680memory clock). There is no coil whine and card stays cool. Pretty quiet in standard operation.

So now I need to work out if it is worth hanging on to, then selling for a loss later when I get the card I want (strix, ftw, trio, xtreme). Now I have 14days to decide to send it back, or if not I'll have to then go through the hassle of selling it...urgh decisions decisions!
It cost 1650 which I'm sure is above what it should normally cost.

What would you do?

Use the 14 days to see if you can get a better card. I keep seeing MSI pop into stock for £50 cheaper than yours (still more than MSRP) and that has 3 power pins.

£1650 should buy you a strix oc and give you change if they werent in short supply.

Depends how desperate you are to game with your new card.

Well see ya guys its been fun, I just cancelled my order for Asus 3090 Strix OC.

I was 104 in line, good luck to those who are waiting.

I will obviously never be ordering anything from OCUK again however, I will keep visiting this forum as it kept the wait somewhat tolerable and fun.

Will probably see you folks for the 4000 series cards LOL.

Take care and stay safe (stay inside like a social degenerate and just game)

I would keep the card you have, as with most things pushing anything to the edge is no guarantee it will always do that. 1870mhz is quite good and pushing to the limit with more power is not a guarantee it will always go that high, drivers can change the overclock and to be fair most cards that fail are pushed
to hard. then its RMA time and that could take ages also. another 1 or 2% is not going to be world changing performance difference.

KFA2 and zotac cards in stock at other retailers today as well.

I picked up a KFA2 today, was going to go all AMD but with a G-sync monitor it was the way to go for myself, might still grab a 6800XT if they prove to be as good or better, but the 3090 will be water cooled from the start, got a EK block and back plate coming tomorrow also. just need the 5950x and i am done for this year!

Well thats a couple of places ive moved up, sorry to hear you cancelled guys but gd news for me :D
afterall its my only chance of moving up the queue as ocuk have been so lacklustre

My zotac 3090 contantly hits the power limit. I just flashed Gigabyte Gaming OC Bios to my card now it's much better. So just want to let those of you with 2 8pins 3090 cards know that, it probably would help if you flash that bios to your card.

Hmm I just found a palit 3090 gamerock due next Tuesday - I wasn't even aware of this card! The overdone bling will actually suit my new build well so I'm giving it a try. It does have 3 power connectors so it has potential to overclock I think? Just not sure how it compares with the strix.

Card would go nice with g Skill trident z royal ram.

I saw that one too, my friends and I were laughing about how long its been in stock for today and still is.
It's got a decent boost clock but that aesthetic is not for me hah. I'd rather stay 400+ in queue for the Strix OC here than have that now, but to each their own!

Agreed =) I picked up some cl15 4000 G Skill trident z royal recently. Will be paired with x570 xtreme or x570 dark - sprayed/painted white, 5950 cpu.
Shot of some of the other parts going into it to give a little idea - I've just finished flushing through rads mayhem blitz part 1 with soft tubing but will use hard tubing for the real build.

Hehe - yeah I might not like it in the flesh - will be plain lit in my build as opposed to rainbow so that might help a little. Worse case scenario I sell it in a few months, lose £200 pounds then pick up a strix - but I'm thankfully in a position where that isn't horrendous (though I expect that is the case for anyone buying a 3090).
