RYZEN 5000 SERIES NOW ONLINE - 5950X, 5900X, 5800X & 5600X COMING NOV 5TH AT 5PM **NO COMPETITORS**

for those who missed it some posts from Gibbo

Current stock standings:

5950X - Small amount of stock, Large amount due this month.
5900X - Very large amount of stock and a very large amount of stock due this month.
5800X - Very large amount of stock and more due this month.
5600X - Very large amount of stock and more due this month.

Stock is healthy and demand is expected to be lower than a GPU launch so we feel things will be OK, if 5900X sells out today a very large amount is due next week. 5950X is pretty tight so if we sell lots then some back orders will be waiting 4-6 weeks so do be warned on that product.

Hope that helps and good luck at 2pm. :)

Same as 3080 thread.
very small - sub 10
small = 10-50
ok = around 50
large = 100+
very large = 250+

Hi there

Most crazy CPU launch ever, we have sold over 2000 units already!

In short:
5950X - Small amount due next week, around 300 sold
5900X - Very large amount due end of next week, 1000 sold nearly.
5800X - Very large amount due in around 10 days, 500 sold
5600X - Very large amount due in around 10 days, 500 sold.

All being well all those who have ordered today before 5pm should have a CPU by end of this month apart from potentially 5950X which may take until end of December to clear.

HOWEVER, it is day one, AMD and its master distributors will update me next week on shipments, but volumes are much better than on GPU's so people should be waiting not too long, approx 2-4 weeks.

Thanks for your orders, our warehouse is doing its best but of course with lockdown also this week levels of orders have increased by 50% as ordering goes crazy during lock down.

5950X: Had a bit of an issue with the checkouts again, same as the the Strix 3090 but got through in the end and already had a shipping confirmation so can't fault them. Just waiting on the Graphics card now but another month isn't going to kill me :)

Again folks are complaining about OCUK when it's the manafacturers that cannot supply enough stock at launch to come close to demand. I'm generally happier in a queue that I can see actively decreasing than F5ing 10 different sites for a month straight.

The 5pm was fixed for 2pm numerous times. Only issue they never changed the time in this topic subject
Numerous? Surely they can only change the time to 2pm once? I'm only arguing semantics because I'm rather ticked off. And... Yeah, neglecting to change the topic title isn't good enough really.

Thank you! To be honest, the only reason I ordered from OCUK, was that I was late to the party, and no other site I checked was taking orders...
Thats the issue. OC have continued taking preorders with money up front with no actual stock or ETA. This has caused people to find themselves in a queue of 1000's without realising at point of purchase of a 3080. Of Course OC being a business, that's their mantra but other etailers have chosen to stop orders once stock is depleted to avoid customers getting frustrated and being more realistic with expectations. People can always cancel once they realise or sit in a queue. I just feel being more transparent at the point of sale was a missed opportunity here after the headache people encountered with the 30 series. With any luck these CPU are in high production and will be readily available in weeks!

How do I know if im in a pre-order queue? Currently just says Order received - not yet shipped on my 5600x. Guessing I'm in the queue

Not necessarily, I had this earlier and I got a shipping notification later. It's possible it could go to out of stock from that (had this with 3080 in Sept) but it's also possible they haven't got round to shipping it yet. Best thing is probably to compare your order time with what other people are posting on here for the same SKU. I've seen a lot of people posting on here about their status but not mentioning the SKU which can be a bit confusing (i.e. 5950 had a tiny amount of stock and went to pre-order very quickly but it's not necessarily indicative of other products).

I dunno , the launch seems well in line with something like an iPhone launch a few years ago. The initial stock sells out in a few minutes and everyone else is waiting a few weeks on back order.

Either way my 5900x shipped earlier, the retailer I used was a fairly painless experience. Only has one time out going through the checkout, used papal too!

That said, most retailers really need some demand management functionality on their sites so they don’t constantly fall over during a launch.

I can’t possible agree with anyone that says this is a paper launch. This forum has loads of people with confirmed orders and barely represents a fraction of the overall market for people trying to get one.

Another product where buyers are waiting weeks for stock. It’s just silly now.

At least the eBay scalpers check their stock levels before taking your cash, and actually ship it. What's the point in paying to be scalped by e-tailers with no stock and in some cases *ahem* no clout with the manufacturers to actually get decent stock for months.

I don't get it, there's been people out of pocket since the middle of September and still no closer to getting their product.
