*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

The issue is there's not been anything from OC to clarify that position.

That seems to be the main issue that has fed this topic to 20720 posts, and the previous version to another 10k+

So is the 'VERY LARGE' shipment of 3080 trios expected this week referring to the shipments announced two weeks ago mentioning a large shipment on the 23rd and small on the 31st?

I'd assume so. Maybe not, but with no certain evidence it isn't it seems a safe assumption that is what Gibbo was failing to communicate with us.

Hope I'm wrong and another 249 appear tomorrow, but better to expect that all the Trios this week have shipped than be dissapointed tomorrow.

just got a Queue update for my MSI Trio order - moved up 133 places

Yep saw that about the exceptions list earlier. Explains why over the weeks queue positions haven't always matched up based on the amount dispatched.

I wonder how many there were. When I first called about my odd queue number it seemed I was (one of) the first, since the customer service guy had to put me on hold to call the managing director to investigate, and then was told I was one of 20ish IT were aware of. Seems like the first couple of hours of site issues did more damage to the database than they knew at that time.

I'm just going to take it to mean that I'm exceptional... why else would I be on an exceptions list? That must be what it means!

How does the import tax work on that my dude? How much was shipping please from there to here?
No import tax.
From gov.uk:
Paying duty on acquisitions from EU countries
You do not have to pay duty on goods that have been produced in the EU. These goods are ‘in free circulation’ in all EU countries.

This also covers goods from outside the EU if duty has already been paid on them.

ExampleA French company imports bicycles from China and pays duty on them. They are now in free circulation and you can move them to the UK without paying further duties.

....shipping was 18 euros to mailboxde.

If that's the case I feel that's very misleading with how he posted it and very disappointing.

In his defence, I don't think he intends to mislead, I just think he is REALLY, REALLY bad at communicating things with enough details to make it clear what he means. Look at this post from the 30th. I am convinced that what he is trying to convey is that a small amount of all Gigabyte 3090s, most Gigabyte 3080s, and all Gigabyte 3070s will arrive this week (the same ones mentioned by Giga-man here). But it reads as Gigabyte 3090s, and all the brands 3080s and 3070s. And that is already, and will cause even more over the weekend, people to think cards that should've come haven't. But it is just terrible communication in the minimal communication we are getting.

OC only have themselves to blame for the rage they are getting. And by themselves, I mean the upper management. I pity their customer service people having to deal with all the queries and complaints because the management can't clearly communicate and manage their customers expectations... and that is like the 10th time I've posted pretty much the same rant about that today, so I'm going to try to step back and just try to answer questions about what we think has shipped (and reminders to fill in the queue form to feed the spreadsheet).

Eagles hit OCUK 100%

@Gibbo, how is your day mate?
You are an elite level Sharon.

Just wait ffs.

Despite everything I'm still thankful OCers have a pre-order queue system. I had £750 saved up for a graphics card and if I hadn't been able to put it down anywhere on a card I would have ended up spending some of it. All I know is that at some point I will get a 3080 for a relatively decent price. I come on these forums most days to check out the latest news and I see the posts from people who have managed to get cards from other much smaller vendors. It feels all too tempting sometimes to cancel my order here and try my luck elsewhere but I just don't have the time to spend days ringing round every store in the UK trying to find an illusive card plus for every story here of someone getting a card easily elsewhere there's a similar amount of people not having any luck and finding its the same stock situation in most places. I'm not sure I even believe some of the stories of people finding cards easily anyway. I'm sure a few are getting lucky but probably not many.

I'll wait it out. I'm still hoping that once Gigabyte start shipping properly they'll ship decent amounts.

Dem people gettin' angry;)

To be fair if stock isn't coming in whadyougonnadoaboudit?
However if you gouge a £645 card up to £720 between order and checkout and then don't deliver for two months then...."insert your own expletives here".

I'll use OCUK again if they have something I want cheaper than elsewhere but boy this has left a sour taste.

Why wait? They have our money and our time. We gave the money in good faith for a spot in a queue.

Sure we can cancel, however what we can not get back is the time lost.

It would be nice for OCUK to act in good faith, rather than giving vague ideas of incoming shipment sizes. Businesses don't lack total clarity about incoming stock, they are being vague and deceptive on purpose.

They are either being scalped or being put in pre-builds
