RYZEN 5000 SERIES NOW ONLINE - 5950X, 5900X, 5800X & 5600X COMING NOV 5TH AT 5PM **NO COMPETITORS**

Sorry for slight off topic, but since this is most active post about the zen3 I thought you will forgive ;)

I was reading about the "right" RAM for the 5000 series, and it seems you need lowest latency stick you can get (CL 14 for example).

Found this two options on amazon ( as it seems the only place go get the G.skill's in Uk)

-G.Skill Flare X F4-3200C14Q-32GFX
-G.SKILL F4-3200C14Q-32GTZR

Both 4x8GB configs. Which of those you guys think would fit best for OC 5950 cpu

They are both the same ram, just different heat sinks. (Both Samsung B-Die)

£300 - £320 for 32GB DDR4 3200 is mental. Completely bonkers :p

Also try the 'memory' forum here.

What would you recommend then, that is better "buck for a bang" ?:)

3200 mhz on G.skill is surely easily overclockable ?
It's nice RAM, same pretty much as I was looking at (any flavour of TridentZ, Neo, etc, where the timings indicate B-die - you can check via Google anyhow).

It's just the price lol.

I've seen it for close to £200, sadly the only places with stock atm are gouging RAM like they're gouging everything else right now.

I purchased the Crucial Ballistix RGB 32GB Dual Channel Kit - DDR4 3600mhz CL16.
I think they have the good Samsung chips, but double check before purchasing.
I paid around £164.00

I ordered a 5900x at 14:07 on the 5th.
It says 'Order received - not yet shipped' and I never received an email on Friday with my queue number.

I also sent in a webnote on Friday about 4pm and haven't received any response yet.

I understand they are busy, it's just annoying not knowing what is going on.
I placed my order at 2:39pm and got my 5900X on Saturday. Something must have gone wrong with your order, the payment probably authorized super late because there's no way such an early order wouldn't have shipped by now otherwise.

I went with 2 x 16GB 3200Mhz, CAS16...
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/team...00c16-3600mhz-dual-channel-kit-my-002-8p.html

You want the lowest CAS memory with highest speed.

Competitor removed because I don't want to sit on the naughty step for another 2 days

G.SKILL are releasing CAS15 4000Mhz RAM but not sure if its available yet

It was using Amazon Pay so that might be the issue. (trying to use a card just showed a blank page everytime).

Got the payment authorised email from Overclockers at 14:07 with the order number etc on.
Then at 14:37 I got the 'Order Received' email from Overclockers.

I've posted into the customer support forum to see if I can get a response there.

its not the number of sticks it due to the ranks
2x16gb DualRank is the same as 4x8gb Single rank but it should be easier to run at higher speed with a 2x16DR config as its physically less slots occupied and less stress on the IMC. the easiest to run being 2x8gb single rank sticks, giving you the highest clock. However as you want to keep everything 1:1:1 ratios anything over 4000 isnt important. so...

I would go for something like 2x16gb DR Bdie at 3600c14>c16 or upto 4000(c18 or less) depending on budget and how much you plan on messing with it. 3600c16 if you just want to plug and play... 4000 if you want to play around with it a lot.

And as for CAS with Dual Rank modules they will most probably run in gear down mode so you will only be able to run Even CAS numbers. if you try to run C17 it will goto 18, 15 to 16 etc so dont worry too much what the cas is at higher speed DR modules as long as its 18 or less its good Bdie i think.
