Do you know the catalogue number for series x for Argos. If you did you could check stock levels on a local store level. That's what I did when the Snes mini launched.
 
Got my amazon delay email just now, just says sorry for the delay, but good news is we are preparing it for despatch, so looks like I won't get it until tomorrow at the earliest if thats the case. Oh well was working all week anyway.

I had one in my basket at JL this morning but then the site kept timing out with an error page while trying to checkout, then the stock was gone.

It probably isn't worth it for most sites to reserve stock when added to a basket - if someone abandons their cart, how long would/should the stock be ringfenced for before being put back in the pool? I guess they figure it's better to just have a few peed-off people for really popular launches like this than to have a ringfencing system that might cost them sales and/or put more pressure on their site - e.g by people continually refreshing for 15-30 minutes longer than they currently do on the off chance that they'll get an item released from a basket.

John Lewis definitely went to in-stock at 8am this morning, I couldn't check out though before they sold out :(

I don't think Asda actually had an issue with their payment system, more likely they just sold out (or maybe never actually had stock) and that's just the way their cart system deals with it.
 
Absolutely nothing from Shopto.net. Safe to say I have no expectation of my Series X showing up today. The annoying thing is I also have a PS5 order with them, hopefully things may go a bit smoother with its release.

Could be worse, lots of angry american amazon customers, they been told to wait until 31 December.
 
Now it’s website down on Asda, you couldn’t make this **** up if you tried.

**** Microsoft and their lack of production. For all the flack Apple get, at least they can still take plenty of orders and give everyone a date in the future as to when they will get their order. But **** me silly if Microsoft can’t even get their production and logistics right.

And yes I’m beyond ******* annoyed now. Second time this utter nonsense has happened!! I got up early to get a series x but as I thought, chances were going to be stupidly slim in actually getting one.

Back to bed I go...

Same they have been great before had all my consoles from them. No idea why they have gone completely silent an email would have been nice.

Very strange from them. I remember years back they where the kings for preorders and shipping.
