So, here’s an interesting one:

left my Series X running Cold War whilst I took the dog out, came back turned it on and the game crashed hard locking the console and rebooted, when it rebooted everything was corrupt and wouldn’t run.

Tried to uninstall a game and reinstall and no dice, still wouldn’t load a game.

Tried a factory reboot and I’ve just installed and it ran again, fingers crossed it sorted it out.

This isn't sounding great :o
I'm not sure how they can be having more bugs though, the only thing that's really change is hardware. I would have thought this new launch would be plague free, guess not. I just hope it's not hardware failure related.

Anyone playing fallen order?

Got an annoying issue, if Im miss game and turn off the console and then come back to it expecting to just continue it comes up with the message 'a sign in occurred' etc and closes the game and starts it again.

Anyone else had this?

CoD is always huge, they need to optimise their game more, there are the tools to do it so I'd put it down to lazy devs to some degree.

And no sympathy for people playing an awful franchise :D

I never understood why the install sizes are so massive for this game either , lots of bigger and graphically superior games which are smaller, probably bad legacy code

I'm pretty sure I remember playing the first two Call of Duty games online with my pals on the Xbox. World Wars I and II? They were really good, and had pretty fair single player modes too.

I have to confess I have never felt moved to touch any of the rest of them since.

Getting some odd audio issues where voices come out a rear speaker rather than centre on lpcm audio. Also Dolby Atmos is unusable as it’s delayed and does not line up with what’s happening on screen. Cannot see a way to adjust the audio unless I’m missing something ?

LPCM 7.1? try 5.1.

No word on whether they’ll add an option to stream to pc like the Xbox one?
See my earlier post, I put a link to the test app for Windows 10

Edit: Its quite hit and miss whether it will connect... I think I may have messed it up after I turned the xbox on with the tv switched over to the input; after this it stopped connecting.. may need to reinstall the app.

Thanks, will give it a try.

Do you have an S and the expansion or the X?

Both, X with 1TB expansion and 1TB USB SSD, S with 1TB Expansion. I have the X in the living room, and the S in the Office and for taking on the plane as hand luggage when my friends get together 3-4 times a year (if COVID-19 ever goes away).

I've got tons installed on my X and still plenty of room, and any single player stuff like Jedi Fallen Order will get removed once I complete it.

Not sure why there are so many complaints about storage space after a week, how many games can people play at once, and it's not like the storage size isn't advertised.

4-6 games isn't a lot, and yes I play them all as I have:
  1. 4 online games that we cycle through as a group (MCC, H5, Overwatch, and another 4 player game on the go from game pass (e.g. Sea of Thieves, Rock Galactic, or R6)
  2. 2 coop games which are played depending on which friend is on when the whole group isn't on (currently Darksiders, Wargroove, and Crackdown 3)
  3. 2 single player games (currently Jedi Fallen Order and A Plagues Tale) that I alternate between
You ask why people complain after a week? Games are generally getting larger and if it is already a problem now then it's only going to be worse in the future. Being able to turn off the instant resume would save a nice 40GB of storage giving a more reasonable 400GB of usable storage.

Maybe this is only a problem if you have friends :p

How is it possible for a game to cause hardware faults? I thought the OS was supposed to be guardian of all such things with its protected memory, sandbox this, that and the other. I don't think my Windows 10 PC has locked up ever in the 2.5 years of ownership and yet you'd think that would be a more likely scenario than the Xbox.
