Is the Zotac Trinity 3090 ok?

Ah so the overclockers guy blatantly lied to me and was rather rude aswell.

They told me I couldn't also, which is why I messaged Zotac.

I went from 82'c thermal limiting to around 76'c stock fan by changing the paste and reseating the HSF.

So like, will Zotac release a vBIOS update for 400W?

I doubt it. People on the Zotac sub reddit keep requesting it. Probably not though if the capacitor thing is to be believed, then again people are getting along fine with the Gigabyte Bios with no issues.

Also, isn't 375w the max draw from 2x molex and PCIe slot?

no. Already contacted them about removing the HSF and they said it was fine, they actually mentioned it'd be better if I tried it rather than wait for more stock on an RMA (I mailed them regarding the heat)

They might have just been lying to avoid the RMA, I hope you got that in writing in case they give you issues in the future about it.

Yeah see my other post, it's a screen shot where Zotac said it was fine to remove the HSF as long as I don't damage the GPU in the process.

Just in case you were unaware, if they do give you issues in future, you have section 75 (if paid with CC)/small claims at your disposal, usually reminding a dodgy retailer of this will make them fold.

Guess it's just the fact it's more expensive than the founders with a worse cooler, worse power limits and only redeeming feature is warranty.

Well that and it's a bit smaller so I didn't lose my PCIe SSD drive slot.

Turning off those daft LED disco lights allows the card to OC higher by the way.

Do you know if the PCB of the Zotac and FE have lining up NVLink fingers?
They don't line up. if you want sli make sure to get two the same as every card is slightly different in dimensions and the placement of the sli fingers can be slightly higher up or lower or they can be further back or further to front.

So don't risk it. That's why I made sure to buy same models this time for me and my brother and good thing I ended up with two 3090s and he got one too at same time grr, so I ended up with the extra, which is ok I can use it in another build or SLI it and hoping mGPU gets added to FS2020 when they add DX12 to it, then I will be cuffed to bits to have the second one.

Tbh might just wait for 3090 FE or FTW3 Hydro copper to be in stock, OCUK trying to sell Zotac for £1699 when it's seemingly worse than FE for £1399.

Zotac is not worth £1700, although it’s an ok card it’s not worth that.
I had one for a couple of weeks till I got hold of the card I wanted (gaming x trio) it’s held back by the power limit but if all you want to do is play gaming and not bothered about overclocking the **** off try and get one for around £1500.

Not a single 3090 is worth £1700, not even the ROG Strix OC. Not saying I wouldn't buy a FE for £1450 if the opportunity was there, but I recognise that would make me a mug too.

Lol thats a good price - did they tell you which lorry it fell off the back of?;)
I’d imagine the official lorry, as I purchased it from another major retailer on launch day. The price was £1349.99 and that is its RRP. Why anyone would pay any more is beyond me. The profit Margins must be pretty big, whacking the price so high at the minute.

Sorry bud just a bit of a wind up - sounds like you got it at a great price. Good going considering it was release day.
Managed to scoop up a 3090 FE myself so also pretty happy with the price I paid

Ive tested the Zotac 3090 with the EK vector waterblock using stock bios, here are the results in Port Royal with +140 Core Clock +1000 Memory. Score:13929
