3080 MSI Trio X - Overclocking queries (3dmark and CoD:MW)

I always thought that for overcloxking you need higher voltage to help with the overclock.

It's all sounding contradicting to me but I do understand your explanations!

Cheers bud. So one can still boost the overclock in MSI afterburner despite undervolting ?

You have the same problem as me with my MSI RTX3090 VENTUS 3X OC.

MSi only used 350W in the bios.
I have asked MSI for a 400W one.

If they say no, I iwll either send it back or flash a 380W bios if I find one.

You guys running Warzone maxed out + 1440p? (With DirectX RT, no idea if it has much performance impact?)

I am currently running max on 1440p UW and seem to sit near the 120 mark, this seem within reason?

Dumb question maybe but is the 350W for the 3090 only? Checking HWINFO the wattage I hit across the 3 8pin connectors seems to sum 300W max.

No msi used the 350W bios on most of the 2X8 pin ones.

Go to https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/ find your bios.
Then read the left hand side. It will tell you all the info.
and what watts your bios is.

Seen multiple threads about MSI cards underperforming on here recently, like at least 3 threads. What is actually going on here? Seems to be mostly MSI cards with the issue.
I literally get like 120+ FPS on a 1080 on 1440p with the settings turned down a little. This is not filling me with confidence with a 3080 gaming x trio coming at some point. Does not seem worth my money..

Thanks for that.
This doesn't seem too good then? Sat slightly higher last night. But again summed to ~300W

Also any idea if the performance I quoted above is poor?

What's the name of your gpu and has it got 3 X 8pin?
What software is that?

I'm not having much luck at overclocking mine :(

If that ones your, it's a 350W one.

Yeah its the one you've linked - 3080 MSI Trio X

Software is HWiNFO64.

I can hit ~18000 in stuff like timespy (on a fresh boot lol, was 15500 on a 3 day boot with crap in the background), but I do still doubt the performance sometimes.
Mainly down to WD Legion which seemingly runs like **** but 'default' settings in these games never enable RTX which is surprising.

I got the GPU from the 1725 Mhz to 2000 Mhz not bad.

This is with the fans at 100%.

GPU-Z says the memory is always 1240 Mhz no matter what I do.
EVGA X says the memory is 9924 Mhz....I'm so ******* confused now
Is your boost always on? mine never clocks down..

I haven't tried overclocking but I tried under volting my current 3080 FE and my previous 2070 S, both would pass benchmarks but crash straight away in COD Warzone.

I've given up, Optimum Tech showed only a slight drop in temps on the FE anyway.

Same here.
Wait for @MSIUK Support to appear.

What res+settings are you running Warzone at? Curious to see FPS comparisons
