120 on M25

Why do you keep banging on about driving under the speed limit? Nobody has mentioned it other than you. You seem obsessed with it.

Nothing other than the fact the you come across as one of these self righteous idiots, particularly when you mentioned a custodial sentence for 120mph

And it does irk me, slow drivers as I think they are more deadly and cause more havoc than these 'boy racers' that you mention

Just because he has a strong opinion on speeders doesn't mean he drives slowly in fairness to him though. Unless I missed something he said? :p

Jesus wept.

Clearly, doing 120mph on public roads is a stupid thing to do, but it doesn’t warrant jail time unless you’re doing it past a primary school at pick-up time whilst drinking a bottle of vodka from the back seat.

**** me what a load of tosh in this thread

you are the one obsessed it seems following me like a homing missile
Following you?

I clicked on a video you linked on here when you were bragging about racing a van down a slip road a few months ago.

Don't flatter yourself thinking I've paid anymore attention than that :p

I'm struggling to skim read through this nonsense. Apparently, if you're doing 120 then you're good because you're probably a safer driver? Peugeot 'maniac, yobbo' drivers also in our midst? I think some people need to look more closely at themselves.

And it is about the time the mods closed this ******** handbags at dawn down.

I'd also remove that word entirely.

Oh its him! The Mondeo carving up "more cylinders is always more reliable" Subaru driving Lexus fanatic. :p

I keep forgetting.

The Subaru is substantially better than the Primera's and such £400 rust buckets that you tend to favour, only 4 cars exactly like mine ever sold in the UK so I doubt you have ever seen one let alone drove. That Mondeo dawdler has probably been taken out by a HGV long ago by now anyway whilst dithering about on slip roads

Substantially better in that its probably slightly less rusty (but its a Subaru so who knows) and presumably has half decent paintwork. But in terms of driving dynamics and reliability......

I have seen several manual 3.0 Legacy's actually, not that I would be missing out on much if I hadn't.

Is dithering on slip-roads worse than passing people dangerously close on slip-roads and proudly posting it online like you consider yourself to be Ayrton Senna reincarnated? ;)

Anyway I don't believe I actually had a dig at you (other than pointing out you carved up a Mondeo) so why did you feel the need to throw shade my way? I just remembered who you are, thats all.

Subaru only sold 18 6 speed saloons in the UK market which were facelift models so I highly doubt you seen one tbh - the saloons are lighter, handle better and have a lower drag coefficient than the wagons - as well as faster.

You are saying a Primera GT is more accomplished car? if you want to meet up at some track feel free to pm me -I have the whole month of December off also due to excess COVID holidays so what are you waiting for?

Yes I'm pretty sure I've seen some. I've seen a lot of cars which are incredibly rare by comparison even to yours as well. I'm glad you're proud of your car but it does seem odd to be openly boastful about owning a 15 year old Subaru on a forum where people own all sorts of classics and exotica.

I'm saying that a reasonably lightweight FWD saloon car with BTCC pedigree probably handles better than a comparatively heavy AWD Subaru yes. I don't have the straight line or corner exit acceleration of the Legacy though, obviously. Nor the comfort, isolation from road noise, and tech.

You might notice I haven't at any point called it a bad car. Its like comparing apples to oranges. It depends what you want. I would own one. Assuming I could find one for sale I could go out and buy one right now if I wanted to, but I like my cheap Primera.

How did we get here anyway...
This is why i drive an MX5, i can hash the four X out of it and while still being well above the nazi limit i am safe and well happy and enjoyment

I think my MX5's were probably the most fun cars for relatively legal speeds I have to say, I do fancy another one... It will snow at some point and I'll be sad I dont have one.

I have driven about 20 odd cars in my brief-ish time on the roads and the Subaru is by far the best handling of them by some distance. Lexus is250, CL55 AMG, Honda Accord k24, Mondeos etc just no competition. It isn't worth losing sleep over but clean examples of similar cars in the USA and Japan go for $20k or so and its doing just fine for me, I will most likely retire it next year in my garage and you wont hear about it anymore and get a Jag XFR Supercharged as the Subaru by that time will have served me well for 5 years which is the longest I ever had a car but its time for a change, the 6 speed has a 50:50 torque split also for near perfect balance. like most people bashing Subaru its amazing how little have never actually drove them

if you are excited about a MX5 in the snow a SpecB might give you a heart attack..

Need to drive some less fat cars friend. :D

Heres a video of a GT with a very similar spec to mine, chasing an Accord Type R. https://youtu.be/LKMlSw1sojU?list=LL&t=24

I do like the Legacy, and XFR's, a little different to one another but both good cars.

I've not driven an AWD car in the snow but the fun of an MX5 in the snow is the ease at which you can act like a complete knob, fully sideways at all times at very low speeds, every roundabout becomes an event, and you can do snonuts! (tm)

The last time I drove one in the snow I did crash into a curb though...
