So did I. Launch console. Like a 747 taking off in the living room!
You know when the Sony engineers themselves said it was too loud, it definitely is an issue :D hated the noise from mine. Thankfully the ps5 is a lot quieter (shame about the slight coil buzz/whine mine has, but anything is better than a noisy fan)

I can’t hear a thing from mine. It’s silent.

Yeah very true, some games now are running better on the PS5. Does not make sense really.

I not even a keen gamer but even I know the deficit it's due to the late deployment of the Xbox dev software. It's been repeated in this thread countless times lol.

The tribalism is amusing.

How’re you finding spider man ?

I’m hoping there will be a 2nd game !
It's good fun to be fair. I'm pretty sure they're working on a full Peter Parker sequel, although part of me wonders if they'll make a full-on Spider-verse game following the success of the movie.

Buttons aren't too much of an issue, even though I sometimes have to think for a second about which one is R1/L1/R2/L2 :p:o:eek:

Aiming with the sticks however is another matter!!

Yeah, I just find my left thumb winds up on the D-pad far too often :o

There is an after credits scene in Miles Morales. It strongly points to a potential villain for a Peter Parker sqeuel.

ShopTo advised me yesterday lunchtime that mine had turned up in their warehouse but I’ve heard nothing since and have yet to receive any shipping info.

Think they should have just waited until it was ready to dispatch personally. They had me hoping it might have been out for delivery today, the gits. :(

I've never understood HDR. My tv is setup fine for it and looks great but it's the internal game adjustments that make no sense. AC Origins says at the start, adjust the slider until the image is barely visible, so if I take the brightness all the way down to 0 I can still see it just about and then of course the game is too dark, but I'm just following the instruction. I'm wondering if the PS5 overall HDR settings from my calibration is confusing the already HDR enabled games for PS4.

I confess I don't really get the HDR calibration logo steps. I can still generally see the logo even when the sliders all the way down or left or right or up. I just leave the thing in the middle.

It's nice and shiny regardless (:

I've no issue with Playstation as a brand. Just because the PS4 was the weaker offering last gen doesn't mean i'm going to write off the PS5 without giving it a chance

He said One X and PS4 Pro, not PS4 - it's common knowledge the One X was a fair bit more powerful than the PS4 Pro, and many multi-platform games ran at a higher res on the One X

He gives a general summary of his opinion on the last gen and explicitly states the PS4 was the weaker offering.

Even if he was talking purely power then Sony actually had the more powerful console for the vast majority of the generation. On that basis its fair to assume he meant the whole package. Its an opinion he is completely entitled to of course.

Yeah, i get this as well. I tend to just leave things on default. I dont think I have the best TV for HDR. Its a Samsung KS7000

I was hoping to see a nice OLED in the black Friday deals

That's the tv I just replaced! It's a great tv still. I kinda miss the retina burning hdr it could do. But I don't miss the glowing corners on dark scenes.
I used a preset calibration I found on maybe hdtvtest or something and although that's not supposed to be done I always liked the picture.

hmmm they are paying a £30 subscription to gain £100...….when you are struggling to put food on the table......hmmm yeah somehow I doubt that (what the statement says anyway)
Article seems to suggest its £500 profit (or 100% + ) I think I believe the latter to be honest

The web is fantastic, but sometimes the old days are the best (like queueing up at midnight on the day of release) - even for covid something could have been done to avoid this
