Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [27th - 30th Nov 2020]

Abysmal.

2 dropped points, more injuries, Williams completely finished at this level, massive question marks over Minamino who was garbage and some awful officiating yet again.

Football has been absolutely smashed to bit's by VAR, not worth watching anymore because how can you get excited over anything when it can take up to 5 minutes for VAR to decide one way or the other, it's still down to a persons interpretation and when they aren't drawing unlevel lines on the screen they're re-reffing the game, this season is a complete write-off not sure there's going to be enough fit players for teams to finish the season nevermind the Euros after.

I don't know what's a foul or penalty any more.

VAR needs rethinking urgently.

Is all contact a foul?

It seems to be in today's football and presumably by the letter of the law kicking someone is? saying it's an accidental foul is like saying someone is accidentally 1mm offside. If people want VAR and no common sense this is what you get.

Minamino is such a strange player. At RBS he seemed to have a great cross in him and was able to just run and run, looked like an ideal Klopp player to play in the front 3. Since joining though he just doesn't seem to have it. There was a moment towards the end when March megged him and skipped past and he just stood in the line watching him run by. Very odd.

By the letter of the law Welbeck went studs up and over the ball on Robertson there too if we’re being pedantic which clearly the ref is only considering Welbecks dive after

Clear and obvious is rubbish anyway, too much of a grey area. Decisions should be made based on facts, and the fact is, that was a pen.

Oh well it's all ok then.

Agree with those saying this game is ridiculous now. Find myself enjoying other sports much more these days.

Did you find it ridiculous when Salah was throwing himself down with the most minimal of contact? I can't blame the players for doing it under the current rules. All evens out in the end apparently....

Isn't that the type of foul Salah gets accused of diving for all the time?

As for injuries, the schedule and lack of pre-season is going to hurt but doesn't Klopp deliberately keep a small squad? It may work for him during a standard season but it's suicidal to do that during this season.

I believe player should go down as its the only way they will get a penalty, no issue with it at all...its the 5 steps and fall bit that gets me.

This thread erupts when its Salah yet when its Welbeck absolutely nothing.

He kicked him pretty blatantly in the foot, it wasn't a brush. I've seen far softer ones given.
This^^, all that’s happening now is the playing field is levelled, before VAR that would never have been given and once again one of the top 6 would have gotten away with one, now those other 14 clubs are getting decisions, it’s absolutely great isn’t it.
