Wow, Nvidia have banned Hardware Unboxed from receiving review samples...

Who doesn't want RT? I do. I'm playing Cyberpunk with RT and DLSS and absolutely loving it! My 4k OLED only has a 120Hz refresh rate but with g-sync anything aver 50 is very playable. I get that the majority don't have hardware that can run RT at acceptable fps yet but like it or not it is the future.

Tbf I want Raytracing but when it is more widespread and more performative and where weird issues aren't appearing with it. That is still another gen or two out from everything shown to date in my view. I think at moment though if you can get ahold of a 3080fe then that is the card to have out of the main 6 (5800, 5800xt, 5900xt, 3070, 3080 & 3090) at moment. However if you have to chase down aftermarket options then the 6800xt becomes as much as choice as everything priced that way. I couldn't get either those so ended up with a 6900xt because I wasn't ready to drop another £400 on a 3090fe let alone an AIB model for what is basically just RT performance you are paying for at such a huge markup.

Ray tracing you say... 300 fps you say...

Raytracing in all shades of dogcrap brown!

I watched HWunboxed Cyberpunk benchmark video earlier and had to go else where to get the RT+DLSS info I wanted (The Tech Chap). Weird decision from Nvidia.

I have a 2080, a Turing, Raytracing capable GPU, that I paid good money for in my system, so by that rights I would be in the realm of people who could arguably 'care' about RT.
Despite this, I still think HWUB are right and that RT is not ready for mainstream yet, and that the vast majority care far more about rasterisation as that is EVERY damn game available, so although Nvidia may not like it, HWUB are certainly not wrong to focus on that, and give a small section to RT, even for high end cards. No matter how good RT is on a card; there is what, less than 50 games with it; how many that are pure rasterisation? Order of magnitude different.

Hell most gamers don't even know what RT is, so they sure as hell care more about average game performance, than the still VERY small percentage that feature RT, albeit these will slowly become more mainstream as it becomes easier for cards to do it; same with every feature.

I love the fact they are looking a disproportionate amount of focus on what is currently a niche feature that hardly any games use. Ray Tracing obviously has it's place but currently it's still a tech that's in it's infancy. The way nvidia are reacting you'd think that it was the standard for games for years now ffs.

HU basically ignore RT and DLSS as long as they can - two reasons 1) they just dont like it and while they won't admit it the reason they don't like is because 2) AMD either doesn't have the same feature or sucks at it.

HU NEEDS AMD and Nvidia to compete at a similiar level so they can get drama filled clickbait videos up - they don't want to shown Nvidia competing with itself or rolfstomping AMD cause that isn't gong to bring in the clicks

it's all about what videos get more ad revenue

Calm your selves Steve made it very clear the DLSS and RT stuff for Cyberpunk is coming tomorrow.

I spoke to Steve and he said he would switch which colour ring he's kissing when you do. ;)
I am trying chuk.

I tried to get a 6800xt ref from AMDs site on the 8th , for my bro's rig. But to no avail. Didn't have the special link, and after 3hrs of trying it decided I was in the wrong country for delivery?? Guess AMD didn't want my money?

Looks like you have to be selected specially to kiss the red ring. So I will have to go green, again.
