Wow, Nvidia have banned Hardware Unboxed from receiving review samples...

And then you see this:

:D
But am I surprised by this? No, as this is typical nvidia for you. It doesn't have to make any sense.

I wasn't a fan of him for a while, watched him a bit more and he started to grow on me but after the 6900XT review I just thought the way he is showcasing this is strange.
I do own a 6900XT but I enjoy whatever product works for me at the time, for a long time I only went with Nvidia!

So, are all these angry Youtubers who earned money off the back of all these cards given to them by NV going to donate it to charity?

Linus 1.7 & 3.6m views
J2C 2.3,2.1 & 1.8m

(just for the 3080FE)

Without the card or others like it would they get such numbers or sponsorship? Try explaining that to your investors/bank :p

Dont care what anyone says if you are give something there are always strings attached ;)

Let's make no mistake nothing is free in business.

If my business is sending something for free to your business it's only because you are doing something that is generating value for me - I'm not a charity I ain't giving you stuff for free if you aren't doing something for me.

Reviewers want to want this picture of lovely objectivity - in truth if they just slagged off every company they'd be out of business cause no one would send them anything - I'm not sending you products when you are costing me money

end of the day they are all bad guys (they want your £££), to what extent, well that's up to you :D

@PrincessFrosty
Perhaps his view point doesn't line up with your own. No worries there are plenty other 'influencers' who have provided the level of marketing material you so desire.

It has nothing to do with point of view, it's just a lack of attention to detail. He blasted over image quality comparisons which DF spent an entire 30m video on doing detailed comparisons and breakdown of the key technology differences, which he dismisses as not noticeable unless you really look for the difference, which is just a really weird and obviously wrong thing to say. And then just blatantly leaves out modes like DLSS which anyone using ray tracing is also going to use.

Why on earth would I desire marketing material, what on earth does this even mean?

Linus is annoyed. He's very annoyed.

Seems to be his default face half the time. I lost a bit of respect for Linus recently when he just blasted out the fanboy version of several things without even bothering to research the original information - could see Luke wincing as he obviously knew better.

Reason why I only really bother with GN for any serious tech stuff as they usually do their fact checking.

Linus shared the full content of the email.

It has everything to do with point of view. You need to gain insight on the perspective of prerogative. You don’t like the way that he presented the information there is other websites which will give you the marketing material that you so desire. Which repeat verbatim exactly what makes you feel good. Because at the end of the day what you post is all about emotion and lacks reasoning.

You need to watch Linus reaction to what Nvidia did. And he actually likes ray tracing. But like he said he gave the red team a lot of ammunition as to why they can continue to avoid Nvidia. While making those who think it’s cool for nvidia to be evil look deflated and silly. Because this is not about how he presented the information it’s all about control plain and simple

And I have to admit that the letter sent to hardware unbox was extremely unprofessional, unpolished and just full of emo. That lacked any real substance as to why they’re doing what they did.
