In a few mins you will have a chance to grab a 6800 or 3060Ti

I am running it on GOG (as bought it cheaply through CDKEYS and that was the platform for this code) and so my steam FPS display doesn't work. I have tried installing FRAPS and RIVA tuner (from MSI afterburner) and cannot get either to work. How do I display FPS for CP2077?

I added it as a non steam game so I could play via my Shield

OK i may try that. Also I found that FRAPS saves into a folder and I was getting 47.3 FPS using a powercolor 5700XT Red Devil on a 2560 x 1440 at ultra settings (as standard - I didnt change anything in the options - ray tracing was off).

Absolutely.
I was buying a 6800XT but AMD's site was potato.
My daughter really needed a card like the RX6800 (and needed to be a reference ie. <290mm for her case) - so I got it (would have liked a XT but they were much dearer from the scalpers). When they come back in supply my son could use one of those RX6000 series but his case can handle cards up to 420mm and so he can have an AIB rx6800XT.

I am getting 47 FPS on a 2560 x 1440 at ultra settings (but ray tracing off) using a red devil 5700XT - and so thats good enough for me.

this was the first inno3d card ive personally come in contact with and for a budget card im blown away with the quality in hand, from the pics it looked like an old powercolor red dragon I bought for a friend (the same one whos getting the 3060ti) the backplate feels solid and the shroud although plastic isnt flimsy at all, a bonus is the inno logo on the side lights up white (no rgb) which gives it a hint of premium it reminds me a lot of my old 1080ti evga sc black top work.

What FPS are you getting? I'm running 3440x1440 and only just getting 60fps with mostly high & a few medium on a 6800!
I got some more FPS data from FRAPS for CP2077 using a red devil 5700XT on a 2560 x 1440:

2020-12-11 11:25:03 - Cyberpunk2077
Frames: 221 - Time: 4672ms - Avg: 47.303 - Min: 47 - Max: 48
2020-12-11 12:08:29 - Cyberpunk2077
Frames: 86977 - Time: 2188609ms - Avg: 39.741 - Min: 27 - Max: 63

ultra settings (but ray off)

Hello All,

First post here, but looking for a GPU to go with my new build to start some gaming.

I have been refreshing pages since launch now, but I see there is some heads up in these forums which is good.
I am currently surviving on a borrowed GTX 970 from a friend, but hoping to get it all together for christmas (however unlikely that is).

The 3060Ti is probably my preference at the moment, and I do like the look of the inno ICHILL X3 RED.

Will try to upload a pic of my setup and see if there is a way to get email updates on this thread.
both working, update pic to wider shot and smaller size.

Thanks all and happy hunting.......

What's the point then?
so far from what I have seen about ray tracing - example clips - I cant see any difference/benefit. I am unable to turn it on in CP2077 as I only have a 5700XT. What do you think with your 3080? do you notice any difference with it ON/OFF?

So have installed my 6800 reference and running sweet and cooler than I was expecting idling 31c-33c and hot spot 39-42c. Played my golf game which is a graphics feast and put everything to max and temps were high 50's, now I suspect this is not pushing the card too much but I did note the average fps, with everything maxed, was 37.9 which I wasn't expecting to be as low. The gameplay was smooth though and I know its not to be compared with a max shooter game. Gonna try Mankind Divided now.

What you want to do is setup Adrenalin 2020 Edition which is AMD's version of GeForce experience.
Just find the metrics overlay option and enable it. The in game ALT+R will toggle it on and off.

I do. It does look more cinematic. Ampere is a great architecture. However, I just sold my 3080 as I have a 3070 that performs well at a fraction of the cost, £530 vs £850. A high street shop bought it for the price I paid.

thanks - should have thought about that. Installed FRAPS and so far I am averaging 43 FPS on a 2560 x 1440 at ultra (but RT off) with a red devil 5700XT:

Perhaps when I feel rich enough I ought to upgrade (or when more games like this come out - as my 5700XT is more than fine for every other game I own).

I know, hence my question. CyberPunk 2077 without ray tracing is pointless.
No it isnt. What a stupid statement. I suppose by your reasoning then that all other games without ray tracing are now pointless to play as well now?

Even ignoring that gameplay trumps graphics, you can't even tell it has ray tracing in 80% of the scenes.

Linus did a great breakdown of all the settings - he liked high with DLSS off and RT off (he said you could easily tell when DLSS was on due to noisy textures etc, esp in performance mode).

Disagree with the last point here, its easy to notice if raytracing is on by all the hitching and slowdowns :P

Do your work for Nvidia?

Sounds like it because that is complete nonsense.
It's not nonsense. I'm struggling to get into the game. I grow up on Half Life so expected some more emotional involement. The visuals are the best thing about it. I'm going to get my £50 back before I hit two hours (Epic store).
