Xmas present recommendations for a toddler

We’ve got our 2 year old little alien, Lego/Duplo stuff, some colouring books because she loves that and a dinosaur. Because when you ask her what she wants, “*insert parent*, I want a dinosaur”

I wanted to get her an electric go kart so she can go for lessons when she’s 3 but I have decided to rent one when the time comes

We’ve got out one some Duplo, and Brio for his birthday. I prefer things like that, which require some imagination, rather than loud/flashing stuff that just mesmerises them.

To echo others, things that encourage imagination and don’t restrict play. We just bought 2nd hand Duplo sets and at 4 it’s still his go to. Most 2yo’s will be more interested in playing with the box than its contents.

What’s a good present for a toddler? We’ve got our 2 year old a Little Tikes truck and a bunch of Duplo/Brio but it’s hard to think of presents and this sort of thing usually works best with recommendations.
trying to think what my youngest did at 2.

I think it was walk around with toy cars etc and being OCD placing them on the table like parked cars or in a line.
he did some drawing with crayons obviously supervised.
play dough and kinetic sand obviously supervised
Liked to look at books a lot the ones with pictures for kids to learn the names of things

played make believe with his toy hoover, toy cooker, toy pans etc cooking his plastic vegetables and such (his older sisters old stuff, some people might think it's girlish, but your kid ain't going to turn gay cos of a few toys)

you can also think of stuff he/she will be using soon like duplo trains are pretty cool, by 3 they are pretty much ready for real lego though

wouldn't worry about your kids lack of verbal dictionary at 2 years old tbh it's pretty normal regardless of what people tell you.
also at your kids age you should start using a pram less often and getting him to walk, my 3year old can walk for miles and miles perfectly fine

BTW tonies are awesome not cheap though, my kids can listen to one of the stories or a song to fall asleep

how many presents do kids really need at Christmas anyway though, like 3 things is enough IMO

they get enough stuff throughout the year

Bahahaha!

Ours loved his ball pit, playdough, and hotwheels cars on a loop the loop track, and toot-toots cars. And if they are nearer 3 than 2, then popup pirates was quite a success too.

33 posts and no-one suggesting a gucci belt to hold up the nappies? Whats the forum come to?

At this age you are mainly buying the presents for the parents. The kids just love anything bright, noisy that moves. If they can stick it in their mouth the better.

paint it like a small house, add a window.
Cut part of the box so it opens like a door.
you'd be surprised how much your kid likes it, assuming it's a bloody big box obviously so just order a single paper clip from amazon and you'll probably get a nice big 6ftx4ft box :D
