What TV shows are you currently watching

Finished 'The Good Place' which is pretty good and moved onto 'Schitts Creek'. A few eps in so far, seems pretty good.

Loved The Good Place (try Upload too), but i watched the first episode of SC after high recommendations from here, but did not like it all.

Is it worth trying more? I didn't like the characters and felt no sympathy at all to the situation and the 'backward' town folk just seemed a total cliche.

Upload? For me this is one of the worst series i tried to watch in 2020. The acting was poor, the story poor, the comedy basic, there was no subtlety, no intrigue or depth and really no story.

Based on that opinion. Should I consider trying The Good Place?

No, because you obviously have no sense of humour or taste :)

Alice In Borderland on Netflix.
Japanese dram show taking ideas from Hunger Games, Ready Player One and Cube.
Watched 2 episodes so far. Certainly kept my interest and want to watch more to find out what is going on.

Started The Wire (again) and just finished S1 last night currently a few episodes into S2 (my least favourite season)

My partner hasn't ever watched it so I'm trying to right her wrongs (She never saw Sopranos, The Wire or Band of Brothers top 3 tv shows in my mind) and get her through the series.

I'm loving it just as much as when I first got through the series. Timeless.

Binged The Wilds on amazon Prime. Thoroughly enjoyed it, gave off lost vibes and quite well acted on the most part. Hope for a second season but likely not. shame.

Same here.
First ten minutes I'm thinking 'Is this a girl show?' but slowly started to get into it.
It should get a second season after how it ended but then again I suppose we don't really need to know any more.

Add this to my current watching schedule. Only seen a few episodes so far. I thought it was strong and had me intregtued.

I actually felt it stood up well on it's own as psychological drama without the big conspiracy/dark forces at work.

@Junglist Power through S2

What's odd is that I'm 3 episodes into S2 and I'm actually still enjoying it. I don't think S2 is awful TV by any standards, it's just the weak link of The Wire.
I think either the Papers or the School are my favourite seasons.

Though seeing as I know what happens I'm already dreading a few episodes (D in the Prison and Omar in the shops) which are yet to come but then I'm also looking forward to some of my favourite characters popping up (Marlo and his crew, Mike, Brother Mouzone, Cheese, Slim etc)

Once we've finished The Wire it'll be watching the last few episodes of Band of Brothers... Again, really not looking forward to that concentration camp episode. Tough viewing.

Though I'm tempted to just watch it myself. I keep getting annoyed when I look over and see her looking at her phone! You can't really do that with a series like The Wire

Yeah stick with it SC is a fantastic comedy. The characters are all so funny

It definitely gets better the longer you stick with it and become familiar with the characters and their mannerisms.

All of the Rose's are hilarious in their own ways. Roland, the Jazza Gal's etc, all make you crack up eventually.

I expect there are some parts in the later seasons which focus on a relationship may upset those who are fed up with SJW real life getting portrayed but everything about it is well done.

By far one of my favourite American comedies.

Not sure how far through all the series I am but I was expecting something... better based on how much some people gush about the show. I was expecting something mind blowingly good and what I got was an enjoyable comedy that doesn't really do anything special or new. Kind of a bit take it or leave it.

Very much in the same vane as "the good place". Enjoyable but not something that I would say is "must watch" or anything more than good.

With regards to the SJW angle, I haven't heard anyone complain about it in that regard. There are plenty of shows that I do really dislike for that reason but its because of the hamfisted way they handle it. Maybe I haven't got to that bit in Schitts Creek but so far its just natural. Its a character driven story about relationships and family.

There seems to be a false dichotomy that says you either have to think all the SJW stuff is wonderful or awful and there is no room for any contextual opinions on these things. Most people don't care about portraying any SJW topics in their shows, they just want them done well rather than poorly shoehorned in. Current rhetoric can't reconcile that though. If you don't like a episode that deals with these topics you clearly only disliked it because you hate group X or Y.

Either way, perhaps as I watch more I will see what you are talking about. Think I'm maybe 3-4 seasons in.
