*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

the reason non-OC buyers keep making comparisons with OC cards is because they are functionally identical, OC buyers just chose to have a firmware with a factory OC for an extra 5% in cost which non-OC buyers didn't see any value in. the entire reason that there are no non-OC cards being shipped in is because ASUS are slapping that OC firmware on all of them instead of fulfilling their obligations.

it's zero sum game that OC queuers have already benefitted from by an order of magnitude. zippering the queues wouldn't even remedy it as the OC queue still had a 500+ person head start, but it would at least mean that Non-OC buyers will now be treated fairly in spite of ASUS.

to claim it's "not fair" you have to jump through mental hoops that completely disregard the logistical reality of the situation.

I'll let you continue that argument with the TUF OC buyers. Somehow I don't think your gonna get anywhere with that.

I made my choice and it turned out a fairly bad one with the trio. There are cards that if I'd ordered them at the same time, I'd have had them long ago. But I went with the trio and that likely means a 5 or 6 month+ wait, and while it has been extremely frustrating, I don't expect to jump ahead of anyone to get my card sooner. I'm open to all other suggestions though, just don't want my card at someone else's expense.

I think the problem is based around NVidia, they are selling the chips for too much which puts pressure on aib cards profit margins

Not sure why though because the AIB's aren't really inventing any technology. They are simply buying chips in bulk and then slapping them onto PCB on the cheap with a cheap cooler. It's not like these guys are having to build high end mobile phones or laptops they are simply buying the technology that has already been made for them and then they are building the cheap parts and then upping the price tag even more than they should be. Kinda makes me wonder why AIB's even exist to begin with.

If they are meant to be here so monopolies aren't so prices don't become stupid and the consumers being taken for a ride yet that's exactly what is happening.
Their OC's are dog **** for the most part their cooling solutions are trash and haven't really evolved further than just 'Slap another fan on it and make it longer'

WHY ARE AIB's EVEN STILL AROUND?!

I struggle to fathom the level of cognitive dissonance required to get to the point where it’s the retailers job to fix a problem of the manufacturer’s making.

Also just received my shipping notification for my ASUS 3080 TUF OC - was queue position 55.

I really needed some good news today.
Nice one, certainly been a journey, replying as noticed your name in close proximity in the Google sheets list ages ago, hope you will leave any feedback when you've been playing with your new card! I'm still ~222 to go! but but hey started at nearly 1000 ! cheers:p

The thing you're skipping over is the malice vs incompetence bit. I'm not so convinced that this was all an evil plot to annoy customers to the max. These are weird times, and yes, the "OC" is a premium card no matter what way you look at it, perhaps comparable to economy and economy plus and economydoubleplusmaybe that airlines offer (uh if I remember correctly) - you're all getting there at the same time but paying more gets you some queue preferential treatments.

This stuff is hard, but I strongly doubt asus or OC intentionally wanted to alienate customers just because they wouldn't shell out that final 30 quid.

And on that note, my watch is over, probably.. received the shipping note.. I'll be back if it turns out to be broken or if it's the non-oc part ooh or the 3090..

so because you apparently want yours more that means that youre obligated to queue jump other people that spent more on a card that you want to be upgraded to for free?

It's not a case of 'want' though is it, it's a case of they arent being made, so why should those that purchased non-oc vapourware cards day 1 be made to wait even longer by being put to the back of the queue for the equivalent oc version when they ordered around 2+ weeks before those at the currently at the front of the oc queue.

"Dear Customer,
Thank you for your webnote. Unfortunately, the promo event for Watch Dogs: Legion has ended so I have set up a new order for a code for Call of Duty: Cold War to be sent to you via email.
Regard"

I got my code today, for those that received the card already or soon before January 11, send webnote to OCUK and claim COD while stock last.

@Gibbo @ScottiB still no response to my question about the 3080 ventus.. can you please give us some information regarding when you think you might get some. I appreciate you have stepped up customer communications but 4 month's with few updates regarding the card in question is getting abit of a joke.

Where the hell is the gigabyte update? I bet they won't even have all models coming in. If they don't get at least 50 eagles in soon I'm gonna lose my ****. I could have had a card months ago probably if I wasn't stuck in this god damn queue.

Hi, I've got a 3080 ordered via finance (plan was to just instantly pay it off when it actually materialised), does anyone know if i cancel my preorder will OCUK/Hitachi strike off the finance? dont want to somehow end up with a loan for nothing to pay

If you ordered on finance, read the terms of your agreement, if it is the same as my Buy now pay later agreement then the agreement doesn’t start until you have received the product.

You should be able to cancel the agreement no questions asked, call the finance company notify them that you haven’t received your product and that you wish to cancel the loan and the order. Also contact OCUK customer services for their advice before you do anything though.

Thanks. Your getting closer and your day will be here pretty soon if drops keep continuing as they have recently.
