Been thinking about buying a 3D printer but no idea what to buy

Ok dude :)

I don't need to.

Two different brands and kinds of filament there :)

Still needs work.

And nice prints they are:

btw the esteps on mine makes 0 sense. I mean 0 sense. I set it up per e3d's instructions for the titan extruded 100... everything spot on. But nooo. over extruded mess.

so as per instructions...

it should be 200x16x3 / (7.3x3.14) so 9600/22.922 or 418.8mm all correct for the settings on my printer. Nope, for some reason it has to be between 255mm and 270mm or its a total mess. Im not the only one either i found loads of people with corexy setups and that same odd problem.

yet if i set it to 418 and extrude 100mm its spot on. I tried for hours working it out and gave up. eventually i found some random confused dude on a forum with seemingly the same problem who worked out the esteps that worked for him. I copied his and its worked a treat. loads of other people popped up on said thread and common theme seemed to be corexy but why is that?

Guys, I'm also thinking of buying a 3D printer for sim racing parts. Fairly set on an Ender 3 but not entirely sure which to get, a Pro or V2.

I'll be making wheel parts and I'm in a closed beta for a DIY gearbox.

If you are going to mod it, it's not really worth getting the pro, the V2 is a similar story, but would get the V2 over the pro

I had the same and gave up :D

I'm now waiting for a V2 to arrive. I also bought 1kg of filament, BL touch sensor, metal extruder and some yellow springs and red wheel/cog looking things :)

Judging by all the little bits, these things aren't quite "Plug and play" :)

Can I ask who you ordered through and what you paid for the V2?

I'm still waiting for the 20th to order from crealitys UK website.

I would think the who I ordered from is a competitor and not allowed to be mentioned on here - what do you put things in? usually cubed shaped.

£239.

So this is what ive been working on for a couple of weeks now.

It's pretty much done, few more upgrades in the spool holder printing atm ive got a pi3 + another ips 1080p 3.5" touchscreen to go with it on the way. Think ill print a cover for the psu as well as a few more cable tidys but its doing exactly what i want it to now.

Upgrades already done are skr 1.4 turbo, 2208 drivers in uart, 3.5 btt touch screen, 3d touch 3.1, its got an e3d titan and a 600w 220v bed. Everything is dialled in and im loving how reliably it prints. It is a work in progress though.

I'm also waiting. I've seen the forrest selling them for £286 but according to creality website they are £202?

Anyone got any experience with ordering direct from creality.
Shipping times and returns etc?

I almost got mine from the forest, then found Technology Outlet had them for (I think) about £200 (ex-VAT). Can’t fault their service at all... I’ll certainly buy stuff from them again.

Like OP, building some DIY sim gear (but for MSFS). Had some credit on my rainforest account so picked up an Ender 3 for <150 spend. Hadn't realised how cheap things had gotten!

Arrives tomorrow, need to get modelling some parts!

So, i am into sim racing and quite a few parts are 3D printed however you buy the parts just the drawing.

As the original post was sim racing related, I have successfully designed and printed a phone holder, vape holder and downloaded and printed a Simucube spare wheel holder :)

Once I feel more confident with the printer, I'm going to attempt an AMG GT3 steering wheel.
