I got me 3D printer, awesome!

I ordered one around 17th Dec for an xmas present, expected delivery by 23rd - shipped from Poland.
Then the whole covid/border fiasco thing put a stop to that (having sat somewhere in Germany for over a week). Order was automatically sent back to Creality and now in the process of a refund!

So close!
Same, ordered the 18th, from tomtop, a ender 3 pro. Got shipped, delivered somewhere in Germany, and took 3 days of messaging tomtop to find it's been returned to sender and they'll refund me. Just waiting for the V2 to become available on the creality official page now.:(

Around mid-december I ordered (and got) a CR6-SE through 3djake.uk, seems to be an Austrian based company but decided that was better/easier than ordering from China (and it was I guess)...

Anyway, not sure how it would work now actually post-Brexit but I think they had the Ender 3 v2 on there, not sure how competitive the price is but worth a check :)

Personally I felt the ABL of the CR6-SE was worth the extra (having previously had an Ender 3 Pro) as that was largely the difference I think, although think you could add BLTouch for less than the difference, I'm just lazy :D

I did have a look at 3djake but they aren't currently delivering to the UK. The cr-6se looks interesting but as this will be a case of toe dipping I'd ideally like to keep below £250. Hopefully the border issues are resolved soon, I'm furloughed again and have plenty of time on my hands.

I got myself an Ender 3 V2 from Technology Outlet just before Christmas.

Very impressed with the quality of the printing, just need to get it dialled in a bit better, as I seem to be having a few issues with bed adhesion.

Yeah, the bed temp is set to 60. I even tried bumping it to 65, but it seems to have made little difference. I’ve tried hairspray, but it still seems a bit hit and miss... unless I’m just not being liberal enough with it? Will try and get my hands on a glue stick and see if that’s any better.

I’m waiting for some bulldog clips and will try using 4 of those to attach the glass, as I have a feeling the two supplied clips might be causing a dip across the centre of the bed.

You have the glass bed attached with 2 clips and you think it is causing a dip on the bed, or have I read that wrong

Sounds like you are not close enough to the bed

This!

I thought hairspray/glue was more to aid removal than adhesion? I'm now printing on the plain glass side of my bed (print removal accident/creating coating issues) but with nothing added and it seems to be going fine, both PLA and PETG are adhering at least as well as on the coated side...

Yes, that’s right. I’m assuming that the nozzle is just a smidge further from the bed across the centre. I’ve checked it at the corners, but still need to check in the centre.

I’ve ordered the bulldog clips intending to try 4 of them nearer to the corners to see if that holds it flatter overall.

Make sure you do the measurements whilst everything is working temperature. If you still have a dip in the center try inserting a few layers of aluminium foil between glass and bed at the low point - with clips at the corners. Better solution is to use a BLTouch or similar and map the contours to compensate.

Oooh good idea about the foil to tweak the level... I’m not sure I’d have thought of that! Thanks. Yes, I have been checking with it up to temperature.

Definitely considering the BLTouch option as the next step.

You need to buy a new glass bed then.... The whole point of having a glass bed is that they are flatter than a metal bed, mine is held on with 0 clips, you are doing something wrong if you are having problems with a glass bed

Interesting... I’ll see how it sits with no clips.

I’m just using the 2 clips for the bed supplied with the printer.

I checked with a ruler across the bed earlier and it is *very* slightly down across the centre where the clips are. I guess that’s enough to be causing the adhesion issue.

So I'm throwing myself into 3d printing atm. I got a mars for Christmas to go with my ender and I'm loving the detail you can get from it. The resin cost on Amazon is considerably more expensive than PLA. Where are you guys buying resin from?? I've started a project that's going to cost a fair bit looking at the Amount of resin needed

Mate just wack a bltouch on it. On my old printer i spent a lifetime levelling beds and it's not fun. On my new one (@deuse old one) I put a v3.1 3d touch and honestly haven't touched the bed since. It's heaven, perfect first layers every single time.
